When does Felix ever show up when needed!!

They're "hot" because we haven't defended a single shot. Barnes used to be so good at getting guys to anticipate ball movement and know their roles. We just look lost today. It was a nice run. I expected another sub-.500 season and Barnes to be canned. Now I find myself just hoping for some improvements in shooting and continuity.

It's the same story different year. It seems like we always have one good game in the tournament and then the next game can't hit a bucket and the other team can't miss a bucket. The problem I have is that I know nothing about basketball to tell you why that is the case. Oh well, we have next year to go through the same charade.

Well, it didn't take long for this game to end. For once, I'd like for Barnes to surprise us and just keep winning. Off to work in the yard.

I have never liked zone defense and never will.

For one thing, if you are 10 points down you give the opposition 30 seconds to throw away while you are waiting for the paint to dry.

And if you press on the inbound, you can't stop after the ball crosses half court and sit back in a zone for more paint to dry.

Full court press, man-to-man. Pressure, pressure, pressure. Forget going tall and long, other than good hands for steals. Speed, trap, pressure.

Is our other starter (guard) injured and can't play?

Down 13 with 53 sec and call time out. In order to... end on a good note and take the loss with a positive carryover to next year?

Decade or so ago, Stanford closed 10 points in under a minute and won a NCAA game. I think they went to the Final Four that year. But a rare instance of closing double digits in under a minute in the tournament.

We actually closed the gap to six points fairly late in the second half, but it is hard to beat a team that can bomb in three pointers practically at will.

I think Barnes finally realized that Walker is much better than Felix. We should be pretty salty next year.

In fairness, I think it probably took a while for the light to click on for Walker - but he has a chance to be really good, I think. Got to get more outside shooting and a little help for Ridley inside, and they've got a chance to do some really good things next year.

Unexpectedly good year, but when your only crunch time offense is your freshman guard dribbling around for 20 second and then driving for a floater good teams will beat you.

I didn't see the game, but from the boxscore I see Michigan hit 14-28 three pointers. You aren't going to beat many teams with a stat like that.

Michigan has amazing length and athleticism for a college. Combine that with the ability to hit three pointers and you've got a team could win it all ... or get bounced in the next round. That's why final 4 basketball is so fun.

Teams like that usually don't win it all, but they are pretty dangerous. Live by the three, die by the three - as Wichita State just demonstrated, going the final 7 minutes of the game without a single FG inside 18 feet.
