Plenty of ships available and lots of talent coming in 08' and 09'.

CLASS OF 2008 COMMITMENTS
*Golfweek rank #31. Devin Miertschin, El Paso, Texas (Hanks)
*Golfweek rank #37 Adam Wennerstrom, Austin, ( Lake Travis)
*Golfweek rank #52. Alex Moon, Plano, Texas (Plano West)
*Golfweek rank #198 Brett Spencer, Plano, Texas (Plano West)
*Golfweek NR - Dylan Frittelli, South Africa

CLASS OF 2009 COMMITMENTS
*Golfweek rank #1- Cody Gribble, Dallas Highland Park

*Junior rankings as of Nov 29, 2007

Cody Gribble may be the next Ben Crenshaw. I could see any combo of these guys realistically compete for an NCAA Title in the next 2 years.

About time. I've always wondered why our men's and women's golf teams don't consistently rank in at least the top 10.

Wait, this can't be happening. The top recruit chose Texas over aggy? Guess it hasn't spread from Collie Station to Highland Park that aggy has now surpassed us in all sports.

Welcome to the 40.

I believe Gribble actually committed prior or during his sophomore year and just won the 4a individual title. Haven't had the chance to play the UT course, but Karsten Creek in Stillwater is top notch. FWIW, they have the #1 2008 signee (Peter Uihlein) to team up with current #1 college golfer (and freshman), Rickie Fowler.

sorry, i don't follow college golf, or professional golf, but how the hell does OSU field a top tier golf team in Stillwater OK?

...and i looked at their course, it's not all that.

i guess if boone pickens can turn water into oil, he can turn the dustbowl into augusta.

If Peter Uihlien is not next year's top incoming recruit, then Morgan Hoffman is.
Ok State has both. They will pair with Rickie Fowler and Kevin Tway, this year's top freshmen.
Gribble is two year's away. Cory Whitsett, the best of all probably, is two years out, and he is not a likely possibility for Horns.
There are some very good players out there. Do we get our share?

Actually, Wesley Graham is the top recruit and going to Florida St. Uihlein is #2, Hoffman is #9. So yeah, Okie lite is going to be stacked...again.

I think OKSt. golf recruits itself. Sort of like Duke basketball. There is so much talent in Texas we seem to rarely recruit out of state, but the top ranked out-of-state juniors never come here.

you are quite right. AJGA and Ping/Titleist rankings may be a little different, but Uihlein and Hoffman are highly rated. They also have a German junior I believe.

correct, his name is Sean Einhaus. plays on the German national team. I hate to argue with fellow horn fans, but as a objective golfer, Karsten Creek is definitely all that
