UT Mens Golf *DELETED*

I guess I'm pleased by your enthusiasm but surprised by your optimism for this group.
Do you see it coming from this group, new recruits or both? And coaching?

Well, we lose Jace and Shultz but Holland and Hudson (all conference) are anchors. Plenty of ships available and lots of talent coming in 08' and 09'.

CLASS OF 2008 COMMITMENTS
*Golfweek rank #31. Devin Miertschin, El Paso, Texas (Hanks)
*Golfweek rank #37 Adam Wennerstrom, Austin, ( Lake Travis)
*Golfweek rank #52. Alex Moon, Plano, Texas (Plano West)
*Golfweek rank #198 Brett Spencer, Plano, Texas (Plano West)
*Golfweek NR - Dylan Frittelli, South Africa

CLASS OF 2009 COMMITMENTS
*Golfweek rank #1- Cody Gribble, Dallas Highland Park

*Junior rankings as of Nov 29, 2007

My take on coaching: Alot of talent has come through 40 acres under John Fields and no title. Keasler is an up and comer. We should keep an eye on Ryan Murphy the next couple of seasons.

Cody Gribble may be the next Ben Crenshaw. I could realistically see any combo of these guys compete for an NCAA Title.

thanks for your perspective. Is Cody still committed---he will be joining a good group and I hope so. What about Cory Whitsett? Seems like a natural for us, but I hear not interested.
UT is UT, and players like Cody and Cory should recognize that. We will provide the best---in coaching, facilities, golf course, etc. And a lifetime of being a Longhorn----some things you can buy, but that is priceless.

Cody is still committed. Alot can happen in two years but Scottie lineage at Texas is pretty strong. Can't say for sure obviously b/c I don't know him.

Bad news on Whitsett, class of 2010 - his favorite team is the Oklahoma Sooners. Parents went there. I doubt we have a shot at him.

Close. The 30-team field will be cut in half following Friday’s round. Top 15 teams play Saturday for title. Not likely we'll make up 14 strokes. Horns made a good run. Best of luck to our Seniors.
