with a statue at the FEC.

Well deserved!

Very fitting and well-deserved! Those were good times! Ann and Barbara sitting court side next to the team! Really used to piss off TT fans when they came to town, but they always were a bunch sorry *** fans and coaching staff. I regress........ thanks Jody for keeping Texas a winning program when the boys weren't doing much at the time.... in any sport!

Congrats to Coach Conradt. 99%. 34-0. 900. Impressive and statue well-deserved!

As for the lack of responses from the "regulars" on here, that in itself is telling. Must have wanted a statue for the former coach.

Agree with the "well-deserved" accolades, but they should have also re-named the Court the "Jody Conradt Court" in the FEC....a la "The Summitt" court in Tennessee...

This is impressive, and statue worthy:

University of Texas president Bill Power said Conradt’s legacy can be described with a single number – 99. “That’s the percent of Jody’s players who have earned their degrees,” he said.

absolutely deserving - she is all class - always has been - i was lucky enough to have her recruit one of my players and work her summer camps - she is just the best - no coach out there now and before sees the big picture of what it means to be a student athlete and to compete at the highest level better than her
if you ever have to opportunity to meet her, take advantage - she is amazing to visit with
The University is a better place because of Coach Conradt - hopefully we as fans never forget that

texassports.com article about the event.

Kinda strange to see Coach Summitt doing a hookem horns. Just thinking that with both coaches having stepped down, the only reason to keep the UT vs UT matchup going is tradition. Sure hope both schools agree to continue the series.

Saw Anne Marie, Imani and Cokie for sure. I'm sure the rest were there, see the photo gallery, I just didn't recognize them out of uniform.

Got to meet Kaylee Hartung of the LHN thanks to Ashley Cushman. Saw Coach Royal close enough to say hi. Not sure he heard me though. Lots of people vying for his attention.

All in all, a wonderful time. I'm not sure why I was invited but I'm glad as it's probably the only time I will get invited to something like this.

Kinda disappointed that none of the articles have the Sue Gunter story that Coach Conradt told because I think that really shows the progress that women sports has made since Title 9 was implemented and the spirit of cooperation that existed at that time between programs.

I actually know why I was invited….and it really had nothing much to do with me. I don’t care. I was happy and honored to be there.

I’m with you on the Sue Gunter story. I’ve heard Coach tell that story many times and I still always laugh at the end.

I sat next to the Stephen F Austin group. That was a rowdy bunch that was happy to be there. None of them looked surprised to hear they had made the team because they had a car.

I’m pretty sure I saw the entire current team, although I didn’t count heads. I was more amazed at all of the alumni who were present. It would be easier to list the ones I did not see.

Coach was obviously very genuinely touched. I got the impression that she was a little surprised that she reacted as emotionally as she did. You don’t normally see that from her in public. But, it was certainly appropriate under the circumstances.

My only gripe with the whole thing was that it turned into a bit of a media circus. I only got to speak with coach for a few minutes before she was led away by the elbows to meet with the media. I watched while the same thing continued to happen while she tried to speak with others. I understand why it was that way, it just seemed a shame that they couldn’t just let her enjoy an event that was supposed to honor her.

L4UT is correct. The University is a better place because of Coach Conradt. And, her influence extends beyond women’s basketball and UT. Both of my daughters, have been impacted by her and are stronger, more independent and self-confident as a result.

LHN was there filming the entire time. I would expect them to air a show at some point, but I'm just guessing. I haven't seen any video made available yet.
