UT ex Hardee makes Olympic team in decathlon

Texas ex Trey Hardee finishes second in the decathlon at the Olympic track trials with 8,534 points to earn a trip to Beijing.

Trey has his personal best total up to 9001, good for 25th all time, so he has the potential to win if he scores close to his best on all the events.

Former UTers Leo Manzano of Marble Falls and Andra Manson of Brenham also made it, in the 1,500 and high jump, respectively. Also making it in the high jump is Dusty Jonas, who attended Nebraska but is from La Vernia, just east of San Antonio.
