I have a dell notebook that has an s-video out port and it came with an adapter that has s-video plug on one side and then s-video, composite video, and digital audio plugs on the other. I've never owned a tv or stereo receiver that had s-video until now. The tv is connected to the receiver with s-video and analog audio. I want to use the dvd in my notebook, connect it to the receiver and watch it on my tv. I realize now that I need extra cables to make this happen.
before I go buy and cables, I was wondering how this is going to work. What I want to do is connect it to the receiver, especially because it has connectors in the front. I'm not sure it will work, though. So I need an s-cable, but what about audio? The receiver has left and right jacks, but the adapter only has one. Is there a cord that will go from digital audio to analog left/right?
