Texas beat USC. It happened...get over it. And just because your state and cities are going bankrupt driving your folks and companies to Texas doesn't mean you need to make it personal.

Poor Liberals.
 
I love how the response is always "well if he felt this way, he should have challenged me in class". When you speak in a way that makes it very clear you have nothing but contempt for people with whom you disagree, and you're in a position of power, how can you expect someone to chime up and risk their scholastic career to say "you're out of line."
 
Well said Prodigal. I remember it took me a few years to realize that most professors are just reasonably intelligent people who stuck with their education. Their position and the authority with which they speak often gives an illusion of incredible intelligence, but behind the "curtain" is just a fairly regular man or woman who stuck to it and got their PhD. I am not saying everyone would be capable of that intellectually, but FAR more than we typically think ARE capable but choose other paths. I remember correcting one of my professors at UT about the Bible on multiple occasions. By the end of the semester he even said "Mop, you know the Bible better than me, did I say that wrong?" or something along those lines. I was 19 years of age. That is frankly pathetic that he was teaching a class on the Bible. It was not in his area of expertise, it was clearly just a pet topic that he had worked up and wanted to rant about. In his own field, he was indeed credentialed and capable (I took him again later for Philosophy of Language classes) but he had no business teaching the Bible in m estimation.
 
Did anybody take that Texas History class at Texas?

I remember that class, it was an easy A, but you had to succomb how the white man and the US were the Evil Empire and how the Mexicans and Indians were abused and never rightfully compensated. Easy A but you had to swallow your pride.
 
This prof has the mind of a brainwashed liberal and lives in a fantasy world that only he and his kind can see.
 
It is bizarre how liberals in education and the media cannot separate their world view from their profession. They are just losing credibility for themselves and their industry.
 
Having to put up with partisan and intellectually dishonest liberal professors is sadly part of going to college. I didn't like that as a student, but it's reality and has been for a long time. However, I view it a little like the biased media. Conservatives bellyache about it, and they need to get over it and fight back. They can do that by choosing to go into professions like college professor, teacher, and journalist. Instead of encouraging your sharp, conservative son or daughter to become a CPA, physician, or an engineer (and make money), tell him to value changing minds over making money and go into these professions.
 
I suspect that the avg. pay of a college professor varies greatly by the discipline. I would expect that the average liberal arts prof. makes significantly less than an engineering prof. In my time at UT I never had a single engineering prof. go off on any political tangents. I had several liberal arts spew their propaganda however.
