yah that was unreal. i was laughing my *** off watching him coast the final 40+ meters looking around at people. i have a feeling he really is gonna blow the record away if he stays healthy for another day. ha
the finals are at 9:30 am saturday morning. are they going to be aired live? i can't seem to find a live airing listed on nbc's website. i don't want to have to wait till the primetime show to see the race.
They had a split screen in Argentina between the Arg vs. Holland soccer match and the final. By the way he let off the gas a little before the finish line, I thought it was the semifinal.
don't worry he's only 21. there will be plenty of 100m races in his future barring injury. he was even quoted as saying he didnt care about the World Record cuz it was already his. He just wanted to make sure he won the Gold medal. that's why he let up when he knew he had gold
i really thought this particular race was beginning to reach the human limit - we get down around the times we had before Bolt and that would be it (without aid of course).
there is no telling how far the times can dip now. not only with Bolt (only 21 yrs old), but the whole look and build of sprinters could change - countries pickin out the youngsters, etc.
wow. just wow. haven't seen anything quite like that before.
For some reason, it just made me laugh, him hotdogging it for the last half of a 9 second race because no one was anywhere near him. Made me laugh on the replays, too. Unbelievable.
The guy just jogged to 2nd place in his heat in the 200m. About 3 steps into the race he had caught up to the guy one lane outside of him. Then with about 50 meters to go he switched from 4th gear to 3rd gear.
He is crazy. He looked like a guy who got in trouble with his coach and was told to run a lap. That kind of "whatever" attitude as he is trotting along. Just crazy.
Wow, the guy runs the 100 meter final, trots over to the concession stand, buys some popcorn, goes back for some butter, and still wins. He should have to run the next one backwards, just to give someone else a chance. He could conceivably run 9.5 if he pumped his legs like most of those sprinters do after about halfway, when they really get up to speed.
We were shouting and laughing like it just could not be possible. I love the fact he pulled up while shattering the record - signaling there is plenty more speed to see next year.
When the fastest guys in the world say he's the fastest human speciman ever, you know he's the real deal.
