Usain Bolt is the first person I've ever seen...

...that reminds me of Vince Young.

Do you think he has any college eligibility left? Ho - lee - cr - ap.

I did hear the Raiders were inquiring. Hasn't the sprinter to football thing failed in the past?

The Cowboys drafted Carl Lewis in 1984, I believe. Epic fail. But that's back when the NFL draft was 12 rounds or something...so why not take a flyer (no pun intended).

I was speaking more to the way he seems to toy with competition and make everyone else look like they are in Jr. High....but I see what you're saying about the looks.

I've seen the 200m..and I won't tell you who wins, but it looks like this:

Cowboys took Bob Hayes and that worked out pretty well. Giants tried to counter act that by taking former record holder Henry Carr, who Hayes smoked for 3 or 4 TDs in a game at The Cotton Bowl in 66.

Billy Cannon was a sprinter and was believed to have been able to win the Olympics and be the world's fastest man if he would focus only on football.

Then again there is that trivia uestion answer - Curtis Dickey, only sprinter to ever defeat both Carl Lewis and Herschal Walker in an NCAA 100. That didn't work too well for the Colts. Curits' career pretty much ended when Steve mcMichael hit him on the opening kickoff - brilliant move by Akers.

Ron Brown won Olympic gold in 84 on the 4x100 team. Played CB/WR for ASU, and WR for the Rams.

Renaldo Neihamei(SP) hurdler played for 49'ers.
Jammall Charles, played RB at Texas now plays for Chiefs, to name a few others.

This guy is a freak! 6'5", 190 lbs and now is the 1st man since Carl Lewis in '84 to win gold in both the 100m & 200m. However, he is the first ever to break both WRs in the Olympics. Not even Lewis or Jesse Owens did that. If he could catch a football, well...........

That conversion to the forty doesn't work.

It doesn't account for the fact that the start adversely effects the time over the shorter distance to a much greater extent.

He's setting world records with his top-end speed, not with his start. He was just starting to take the lead at the 40m mark. There's no way he runs a 3.9 forty.

And why would he want to play football? He's going to make millions without ever getting hit.

we would be a lot faster with white shoes and stripes on his shorts

I swear my heart rate doubled when I watched that video again. Can't wait to see VY next sat. at the game.

He looks like Vince Young b/c of his long legs. When he runs, his legs are moving slower than everyone elses, but due to his stride, he is traveling faster than everyone else.

They are both deceptively fast.

True that both Vince and Usain take long strides, but Usain takes them as fast as shorter runners take their short strides. Because it's not just about covering ground. It's about creating velocity, and the only way to create velocity is to have your feet hitting the ground often. Velocity is created only from the moment the feet hit the ground to the moment they are directly under your body.

I love Vince. I would feel the need to kill any man who questioned my loyalty to VY. But come on, folks. This is Usain Bolt.

This guy toyed with his competion too. His competition just happend to be a pretty fast guy.

Bolt could really just be this fast but the strength of the entire Jamaican team really makes me wonder about their methods. They don't even have 3 million people in their entire country.

Ben Johnson was 5'10" and built like a running back...
Carl Lewis was 6'2"
Usain Bolt is 6'5"

Usain Bolt is 21 years old and is more like Carl Lewis than Ben Johnson.

possible (i've said it, too) but no more likely to cheat than any other country / runner... Jamaica has fast runners, too. This is not new.

I never meant to imply Vince had anywhere near the speed of Bolt, just that they both look like they are merely jogging as they accelerate past others who are clearly sprinting their arses off.
