USA v TT

USA wins 1 nil. Not a great performance but any win on the road at this point is huge.

The last two matches have been must wins and I dont think it is a stretch to say Costa Rica at home is now a must win.

Hoping for El Salvador to upset or at least get a draw tonight against the Ticos and it wouldnt break my heart if Honduras somehow got a point in Mexico City or even pulled the upset. USA currently leads Concacaf with 16 points and at the end of the night dont be surprised if it is USA at 16, tricolores at 15 and ticos at 15 with Honduras only 3 back at 13 and USA still must go to Honduras.

A big win indeed. A big ugly win. I am grateful for the three points, but this team is not playing well. And tonight was just pissing me off. No aniticipation. No serious challenges to open balls. And getting outrun like nobodies business. They showed some decent dominance against El Salvador. But for the most part it has been lethargic, uninspired, sloppy play. And it has been that way since we got back from South Africa. We should have been riding a huge wave of momentum into this final stretch and instead we should be thankful the Cup does not start next month.

I happy for the win and I will take it however it comes, but this team had better get its **** together before the next level gets here because they will get nowhere otherwise.

Before the Costa Rica loss to El Salvador that game against Costa Rica was a must win. Now it is a must not lose. So having the tie as an option is big. 18 is now the magic number.

I rather have it against Honduras and put it all to rest with a big party on October 10th.

Costa Rica has imploded going from 4-1 to 4-4 and now facing the real prospect of being in the playoff. It is nice that the game in DC now is at only a must draw status depending on results in round 9. Have to expect the ticos to beat T&T so only a win in Honduras gets the USA through in round 9 and not sweating round 10.

Mexico has done the opposite of the Ticos winning three straight and with a home game against El Salvador and then T&T could still win Concacaf if the US doesnt win its last two matches.

Without a question, then man of the match was TIM HOWARD.

T&T could have easily been up 2 or 3 goals to nil by half time, had he not pulled off some fantastic saves.

Am I the only one that can't stand Clint Dempsey? I know he scores goals, but I just can't stand him.
