I'm so excited. I really don't know what to expect this year but this is the kind of schedule you gotta love....WC Qualifying, Confed. Cup and Gold Cup. We will get to see a LOT of soccer this year and see a lot of players stepping into roles.

It all starts with Sweden next week.

Any thoughts?

Not sure if you saw the other thread or not, but I'm about the biggest US soccer fan around. I've already got my tickets to the Mexico qualifier in February. I've actually gone to the last two qualifying games against Mexico in Columbus. I'm really excited about the next one.

The last two games had - I'd say - over 1,000 people from Sam's Army behind one of the goals. It appears as if, this time, the entire horseshoe is going to be filled with Sam's Army and a new group called The American Outlaws. Sounds like a crazy environment.

p.s. Look for my Texas and Come and Take It flags behind the goal.

I'll keep an eye our for your flags. I've been to two USA-Mexico qualifiers as well, but both in Mexico City. (One point, one goal.) The Sam's Army + reinforcements sounds like fun, SA is great fun in my experience.

Let's get the final round off to a good start!
P.S. I wish they would release the venues for some of the other games soon. It seems to be taking a long time.

In looking at the MNT January Training Camp Roster, am I right in assuming that there will be additions for the Mexico match on 2/11? I know that this group will be used for tonight's match with Sweden, but am hoping that our foreign based players will be able to come back in time to get some work in and play vs Mexico.

qualifiers are played on FIFA dates, which means that clubs are required to release players for national team duty a minimum 48 hrs before the match. The tough part for these is that its just a one off, so both teams will have their expats for only one practice. When the games are a Saturday/Wednesday, the teams have a good week with their national team players. CONCACAF has 2 one off game scheduled, and as it turns out both will be on Mexico/US games.

His freekick was a thing of beauty.

I know we were only playing a young Sweden squad...But it's amazing to think we can now put out a B team and beat anyone, let alone a European team. I remember the days (and they werent that long ago) that we trotted out the same guys match after match.

I'll be at the T&T game as well. I'm not excited about 25,000 fans in a 60,000+ stadium, but I guess I shouldn't complain.
