US intervention in Central America = failed states?

From 2006 research I participated in. JPGs of text below.

The map, a reminder of the geography. The JPGs I generated for ease of presentation here. The web pages are Subscriber Access only (chaostan.com). These were examples of US intervention and regime change operations, and the effects on the lives of the citizens, with lingering effects lasting years and decades. With unintended consequences called Blowback.

Overthrow govermments, back thug regimes, you end up with failed states. Not just then, but for years. Decades. Long removed comes the Blowback, but -- like karma -- few can trace back to the causes, it was so long ago.

Here's the lay of the land.

Honduras is sandwiched in the middle of the three countries I detailed in the briefs below. I did not cover Honduras specifically, so am including Nicaragua, with a century of interference, and it neighbors Honduras.

Interventions cost the lives of many and accomplish little. They leave Blowback for years.

Hu, Americans don't want to hear that. I think you might be a terrorist. Take it back or else you'll be added to the no-fly list.

Costa Rica has had over 60 years of stable government, medical care and social security and it was started by Pepe Figueres, who created a welfare state and financed it by abolishing the army. That saved a lot of money and limited the extent to which the Criminal Intelligence Agency could manipulate the politics.

When was the last time you heard of a swarm of people fleeing Costa Rica? The Ticos don't even bother to come here legally.

There is a lesson there.

In light of the humanitarian crisis on the border, this thread is a most deserved one, thanks Hu for starting it! The politics of the 'deep state' and such come into play. Huis, great point as well!

Even though most of the posters will be busy posting on 'BO is a...' threads, this is where real information can be gained, if so desired.

another humanitarian crisis arises as the US gets overpopulated with illiterates from central america and every other country in the world which is currently unfit to live in and getting worse.

They debase the wage scale for poor americans to begin with.

I feel for poor people, no matter where they come from, but how many of the 5 billion poor can we take?
