I was just wondering if any one else saw this article and what the thoughts on it might be. Personally, I feel this is a good thing for US soccer. I have no problem supporting HS soccer teams, but the level is no where near that of elite academy teams. Also, at one point in the article someone claims these players are 'professionals.' No they aren't, but they are being groomed to be, and they are having their way paid by their teams because they are good enough to be developed for professional ranks.
I am so excited about these lower developmental levels of US soccer coming along. We are going to see an explosion of talent and development in the US game in the next 10-15 years, and I am so excited about this.
