Upper NEZ Chairbacks Donation Requirement:UPDATED

$125 per seat, per a Foundation person I just spoke with. Not a bad deal (considerably cheaper than same seats on sidelines, even for sideline seats that are past the goal line). Make that donation and your NEZ upper deck seats are permanent chairbacks in the first few rows from now on (as long as you make that donation and buy the seats each year). FYI, there are still many of these available, although for OU tickets your total Foundation donation still needs to be somewhere around $800, I believe (to -maybe- get two OU tickets).

There are no chairbacks in the upper deck. Perhaps you should check out some of the photos. If you are referring to the portable seats that are attached to seats, then that is a different animal.

It looks like the first three or four rows are indeed chairbacks.

Forgive my ignorance, but are these chairbacks individual seats or at they just bleachers with a bar running across the back?

I have not.

Are these essentially the same as the club level seats except without being as nice and without access to the club level benefits?

That is accurate for the non-club chairbacks on the lower level, but it has been my understanding all along that the ones in the upper deck were not part of that deal...could be mistaken. If I were you, I would call back and either talk to someone else or talk very slooooowly
. Make sure they KNOW you are talking about the few rows in the upper deck.

I am confused as heck. The lady says the donation is 150 minimum, but there is no cutoff for the chairbacks that you could absolutely say $125 per seat will get those seats. She tells me its too early to tell.

I'm just curious when they plan on being able to tell since the freaking first game is almost just 30 days away

***Apparently my posts here and on OB yesterday (see the original post at the top) may have generated a lot of calls to the Foundation and caused a market adjustment. I originally called to inquire about exchanging some East Side chairbacks (Row 3) that I have now for some in the NEZ Upper Deck.

(yes to the above questions/ comments-there are a few {3-5 rows, depending on the section} rows of regular-but gray-chairback seats in the NEZ Upper Deck-NO Club Access, extending on the East Side to the end zone)

The guy told me they could do that, I suspect because the East Side Upper Deck chairback sideline seats I was talking about had more value for donation seeking purposes than the ones in the NEZ Upper Deck I was inquiring about. He even offered them to me at a discounted donation rate (compared to what I've been giving to get the East Side Upper Deck chairbacks I've had since 99), and was careful to point out that the lower rate he was quoting would likely put me under the bar for OU tickets. I elected to keep my existing East Side Upper Deck chairbacks, and ADD four of the NEZ Upper Deck chairbacks, and he stated that could be done, for a donation amount of $125 per seat. I said OK. He charged my card and left a confirming voicemail this morning.

The following is what I just posted on OB, after reading posts on my thread there saying people had since called the Foundation to inquire about the deal I got only to be quoted considerably higher required donation amounts for the NEZ Upper Deck chairbacks:

Well, all I can say is it may not have been information that the public at large (i.e. 'the market') was meant to learn from me, in a forum such as this, but he didn't tell me that, and I wanted to share it with you. I have tickets all over the stadium (14 now-personal use, I am not a broker), including the North End Zone club, and now I have a charge on my Texas Exes Bank of America Mastercard for the tickets I mentioned in the original post, for the amount I mentioned (also confirmed by the employee in a voicemail he left this morning).

I hope the guy doesn't get in trouble over this! I suspect my posts here and on Hornfans generated some interest and apparently caused some resetting of the required donation amount. I actually suspected this might happen, as I was posting the information out of my surprise that these seats could be (were-by me) had so cheaply. If anyone wants to come visit me in these seats at the FAU game, let me know and I'll have my invoice with me (or the persons from my party in the seats will-I'll probably be in the club beneath them!) Hook'em!
