Okafor is now a 5 star and I think some of the Texas guys slipped including Gilbert

if we close McFarland, looks unlikely, I would be happy with the 3-five stars, and remaining 4-stars...great class thus far...still do not know how Barclay is in front of Gilbert, but maybe they'll battle it out on the field in a few years.

Doesn't make sense since Gilbert was just named Gatorade Player of the Year.
Then again this is Rivals and the Gatorade award is is related to ESPN.
I think Gilbert will be a stud for UT and will benefit from red shirting a year behind Colt.

Really? Seems like many have agreed with me, as do the services. But yes, it is quite incredible to see a large guy running through GAPING holes as nobody even touches him and he runs directly forward! I love it. I mean, you think people are talking about him converting to a LB just for fun? Lol. Not to say he is a bad high school back, but IMO he will NEVER impact UT and it's terrible shotgun zone blocking scheme as a running back.

he dropped from #99 to #101 in the Rivals 250. his videos are much more impressive than mcfarlands

McFarland has had a less then great year... hell - he wasnt even named the district Defensive POY.

At one point during the season I think rivals had him(Whaley) at #65. Then he dropped down to 99 then to 101? I think that he should be around #75 as I have seen him play twice over the years and have a hard time believing that there are 101 players better than this guy. He is a stud. As we all know, rankings aren't always accurate. Hell in my other opinion, Gilbert should be a top ten lock.

Yeah, recruiting is definitely hard to judge since a lot of it seems to be based on Rivals and Scout trying to make money by sliding recruits up and down.

4 recruits in the top 50. 2 five stars (Okafor and Gilbert).

11 in the top 250. 15 total our or five stars. 4 not in the top 250 are Tariq Allen (#121 ESPN 150), Paden Kelley (#27 overall ESPN 150), Kenny Vacarro, Derek Johnson.


#3 overall class.
