Per 247Sports/Hookem.com (6/11)...As noted in a previous post below, 3* Andrew Billings, Waco (Waco, TX) - 6-2, 295 was offered last week by Stacey Searels as a C/G which gives Darius James to settle in at C or G which bests suits him!No idea from 247Sports when Billings might make a commitment... besides Texas, he is not short of offers which include Baylor, Missouri, TCU, Texas Tech, the ATM, Arizona St. Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Duke, Indiana, Iowa State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, New Mexico, North Texas, Northwestern, Rice Owls, SMU, Texas-San Antonio.Rumors abound that a Katy Seven Lakes OT (Michigan St. commit) was offered last eve after the 2nd Texas Camp yesterday afternoon... more on that under the Texas Camp post!

A couple of expert sources are saying Chevoski Collins is no longer on the offer list. Guess it could always change however. And if so, maybe we could save it for a higher rated player.
 
I never understood why we couldn't attract more top DB talent from OOS. With Akina's resume of developing players and sending them to the NFL you would think this would have happened by now. I see some offers out so will be interesting to see if they can reel in one of those big targets this time around.

Everything I've read (mostly at 247Sports/Hookem.com) has Texas looking at Mike Mitchel as a DE and Mitchell is adamant about playing the MLB/'Mike' or an Inside position... report is that Mitchell can fill the whole very well and has great lateral quickness & can go from sideline to sideline, but is deficient at drop-back coverage.... take it for what it's worth!

Just an update from this past weekend at Nike's "The Opening"...

Ra'Shaad Samples Skyline (Dallas, TX) WR 5-11, 160 commited to Ok. State... he did the ol' pick up the hat trick where he picked up 4 different hats and the last one was the Ok. State hat! Isn't that **** getting old???

Just an fyi... Samples was offered by Texas at the 1st Junior day back in late Feb./early March and was a silent commit and was given a time frame to commit after that and never committed. So his 'ship went to Jacorey Warrick... All the best to Rashaad. All I know is I don't want to be a slot rec'r coming across the middle with the DB's Texas has....

The Summer recruiting doldrums have set in and it's driving me crazy!

Anyone have expected verbal commitment dates for the remaining UT targets?

Seems like I saw Prevot was going decide by the end of Summer.

I wonder if RSJ will wait until late so he can evaluate basketball teams in early 2013.
 
I played ball at Southwest HS in FW a long time ago . WR Robbie Rhodes is one of the best players to come out of there since probably DT Marshall Harris who played for TCU in the mid 70's or LB Sherman Lee who was recruited by DKR and played for UT in the early '70's. Lee was a Sr. when I was a Jr. - he could bring the wood....

I hope somehow Mack can woe Rhodes away from BU.
