UPDATED Luxury Mexico or Caribbean suggestions?

My wife and I are looking for a 4 or 5 Star luxury resort for a 3 or 4 day trip in the next couple of months (before school is out).

We are traveling from Houston and want to go where we can fly non-stop.

We stayed at La Estancia a few years in Cabo and really enjoyed it. While it doesn't need to be inclusive, that is a consideration.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hook 'em.

How about the Amanyara on the T's and C's? Have stayed in Amanpuri in Phuket and if it is anywhere as nice, you will be in for an unforgettable experience..

Look no further than Hotel Maroma just north of Playa. Fly into Cancun airport, and Maroma is a World away! Awesome service. You'll feel like you're in your own Corona Commercial the entire time. I've been there 5 times and highly reccomend!

Royal Hideaway is the deal. Stayed New Years for a week and had a great time.

Much better post Wilma upgrades.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. The Four Seasons in Punta Mita is booked.

I have played El Dorado in Cabo. How do the courses at Las Ventanas rate? They are all pretty expensive, but I will say that El Dorado was worth it.

Cabo Real is the golf course at Las Ventanas. It's nice, but (IMO) not nearly as nice as the Ocean Course at Cabo Del Sol or El Dorado. I haven't played the Desert Course at Cabo Del Sol yet.

I honeymooned there 10 years ago, right after my wife saw it in the movie "When a man loves a woman" with Meg Ryan and Andy Garcia. Awesome views, awesome place, Awesome service, and Zihuat is an Awesome sleepy little town. Only negative to La Casa is that it is not directly on the beach if you're going for the beach. It's up on the side of a rocky cliff. To get to La Ropa beach, you walk out of the back of the hotel, down a hill about 5 minute walk. We actually just sat around and in that pool the entire trip. While you're looking at La Casa, check out Villa Del Sol. It is directly on La Ropa beach and it's the same quality Hotel.

Thank you for all of your help.

We just returned from 4 days at La Casa Que Canta. Everything was incredible.

The direct flight from Houston and the 15 minute cab ride from the airport allowed us to arrive at 11:30 or so. We went directly to the restaurant and then the pool. The food and service (even poolside) was first class, country-club service.

My wife did the spa thing and I went to play golf in Ixtapa (don't even bring your clubs - go fishing or diving). Their are beachfront cabanas down the beach offering $30 massages (for me, not her).

We had a deluxe room with a small pool and hammock on our patio. We could have lived there (but not for long, based on their rates).

We went to a restaurant called La Cala (the cove). The food and service was comperable to La Casa, but you dine on the edge of the water, with 60 foot high rocks on one side of the cove and 30 foot rocks on the other. It is dramatically lit at night and the waves just about hit your feet as you eat. It was really loud and a great atmoshpere. It wasn't inexpensive but well worth it.

The resort is only 37 rooms, so it is never
crowded. It is really built for couples, not necessarily kids.

Check out their site for the photos. Thanks again for the recommendation.
