Hopefully he can use this trial to get other trials in Europe.

I would much rather him play a lot for a mid-level Spanish team rather than sit on the bench for a top level German team.

Yeah. It'd be nice if some of our players that made high-level European teams could actually play. What seems as a good thing may actually be hurting some of our boys. That's why I was such a fan of Fulham. They sucked enough so that I could actually watch Americans play.

That will piss the Mexican's off some seeing as how they hate him and his Mother. JK is coaching my favorite German side and having Donovan, if he plays, would be awesome. I would for sure get a Donovan jersey to go with my other one of the team.

He decided that about 6 months ago. There have been constant stories about him leaving after this year. In every story he talks about how he wasn't ready for European soccer when he was younger. (Physically or Mentally)

He's ready. He's going somewhere. It's just where? And will he get enough playing time?

He knows & trusts Klinsmann, that's why he would go to Germany over his preferred England or Spain. KNOWING that you are going to get to play each week is much better than not knowing. Or outplaying people in practice only to ride the bench on Saturday/Sunday.

As a Mexican I have absolutely no issue with Jurgen's comments. The only other player in CONCACAF who I might rate as his equal is David Suazo. Donovan is extremely talented, and it would do him well to see what he can do now over in Europe. I am actually very excited for both Mexico and the US. They both seem to be fielding some talented players as 2010 draws near. It's just that group draw that worries me for both teams, considering that they will be in the minnow pot with the asian teams.
