Any new news on our recruiting classes in know we have 15 committed for the 2013 class I believe the last guy was the db Eric Huhn fr Cibilo Steele and we have 5 committed for class of 2014 I might be wrong but I would love an update if you guys have any new info

Posted on the other 2013 recruiting thread

I believe we only pick up 3-4 more guys, with one of them possibly being Quincy Russell. One more DB would be great too.

We might be in for another massive attrition run from Spring/Summer, so over-signing wouldn't be the worst thing ever. I'd take more than a few guys from that list.

DB: We usually only play 10 of them (including special teams) during the season, but we'll have 13 guys competing for those spots. So even if the true freshmen redshirt, we'd still have 1 guy without a job who might leave.

LB: We've practically shown the door to a current roster guy who gets very little playing time as is. Right now, we'd have 11 scholarship guys for 6 LB spots and a few special teamers. Even with a three-deep at LB, that's 2 we'd need to redshirt at a minimum. I expect 1 to leave.

OL: I know we've built up depth, but to the point where we're basically sitting guys that should have been at least partial contributors by now. We'd be up to 17 OL guys tied to scholarships assuming no attrition for 2013. Ain't no way we're building a "4-deep" or whatever you'd like to call it. I bet at least one of the benchwarming guys who redshirted leaves, if not 2.

Horns11 thank you for the update on recruiting. I just hope we start recruiting guys who know how to wrap up and tackle like Earl Thomas, Derek Johnson, Micheal Huff, Aron Ross, etc.. We need more guys who care about tackling and making a stop than being on sport center or making some highlite reel. I also agree we need more OL, LB and DB plus we can never have enough WR's like the Shipley boys

I belive there are six more offers out. WR Robbie Rhoades FW Southwest, CB Cole Luke Chandler Ariz., Safty Marcel Harris Orlando Fla.OL Caleb Benenoch Katy Seven Lakes ,Andrew Billings Waco High OL projected as a center. And a OL JC from Calif. With a backup of another Calif. OL JC if one of the three does not sign.

Makes sense for him to commit to a team which is clearly on the rise and which has an excellent defensive coordinator.

I too see a lot of attrition. Some nonperformers will be shown the door. Some benchwarmers will leave on their own. This prospect will make oversigning a sure thing. I see current schollys getting a very close look after this mess of a season.

ATM's success against Alabama will make life even more difficult for Mack and crew, especially with the 2014 and later classes - one program on the rise against another that is, well, presently tough to read.

Teas is going to do just fine. Strong finish this year, Austin, Academics, 9 games you can drive to, LHN exposure, family atmosphere, chance to win a NC.... Texas is going to do just fine...

It goes in waves. The SEC could just as easily be tougher next year, and a "better" Aggie team could end up with a worse record overall. I don't think A&M's emergence has us worried about missing kids who otherwise would have been Texas commits.

What I have been concerned about is missing kids who actually wanted Texas, like Walsh and Manziel. We shouldn't be settling when there are better options available.
