She has actually made a lot of progress this week since she has longer periods of being awake, is beginning to take a few steps with a walker, and has started talking more. However, they're not sure she really knows who her kids are - that maybe she just recognizes them from their previous visits. That's pretty upsetting to my grandkids as they can't really understand yet all the ramifications of her injuries & subsequent surgeries.
We found out that the neurosurgeon put her skull back together the other day, so they apparently got the brain swelling under control.
I am amazed that she has gotten this far so quickly, given that she was at death's door two weeks ago and in a deep coma.
The family appreciates all the prayers, good thoughts, and well-wishes.
