OK, which one of you were at this movie last night sitting in front of me scrolling through HornFans before the movie? Hill Country Galleria.

Oh, and don't see this movie if you've recently lost your job. Makes you feel like **** all over again.

Great movie, but I was very glad my last layoff (and I've had four) was 15 years ago. Thank God it wasn't a fresh wound.

I flew cross-country for work for years, so this film definitely hit some familiar gound for me. The hotels, the rental cars and doing what you could to max out those frequent flyer miles. Some of my friends thought it was glorious that I got to travel so much. But the truth is the fun of it ended somewhere between year one and two. However, I never admitted it to them. Glad that phase of worklife is over.

I think this movie does a great job of capturing a slice of American life during an era, and I think it will have legs because of that alone. However, it is a somewhat depressing movie, not the comedy I had thought/hoped it would be. I liked Reitman's other two that Ive seen (Thank You For Smoking and Juno) much better.

Just went to see this last night. Not what I expected at all. Each and every aspect of this movie is depressing. For the life of me, I can't figure out why people thought this was such a good movie; while I wasn't expecting the Feel Good Movie of the Year, this was just plain bad.

I saw this after reading this thread. I went in expecting the depressing parts to not bother me as I haven't ever been fired/layed-off (nor do I ever expect to be).

But, ummm, that one part that had nothing to do with being fired was really depressing, and I left the theater saddened despite seeing 90% of a movie I really really enjoyed. It was similar to how I felt in Juno when Jason Bateman hit on Juno.

I do highly recommend it, though.

I loved it. Will probably buy it on DVD when it comes out.

It does a great job portraying the bull **** and truths that occur in the business world.

I'm still waiting on a movie out of hollywood that portrays the corporate guy as the good guy with no hang-ups, without episodes of finding himself/seeking retribution, etc.

I thought it was great to finally see a character with my same philosophy. And he got lucky and didn't get it all yanked from under him, so it was a happy ending.

Haven't seen it yet I travel a lot for work and like Joe Fan mentioned it's not all fun and games like everyone thinks it is. Also, from my limited knowledge of the previews he plays some sort of HR hatchet man. That's not exatly what I do but it's pretty close. Thus, I'm kind of torn on whether I will or not. It might be too close to home for me.

HH93 -- maybe dont see it with the spouse then..........
