Just running from 2009 to present, you can see how the employment rate is somewhat affected people deciding not to participate anymore. This was already a well discussed point but I hadn't seen the official numbers like this before.

The unemployment number has varied over that time, but sadly the participation rate is just steadily declining.

That's crazy, I was just using them yesterday. Maybe the Bureau of Labor Statistics needs some stimulus money to keep the website working.

Or perhaps it is a dirty stat that the administration doesn't want us to see.
