List of Texas players from the Hoopgurlz 2010 Top 60 that have not committed. I have included some players from other states that sound like they could be viable in Coach G’s system. It’s still early but UConn already has three verbals from kids in the top 20 plus one outside the top 60. Texas has one player verbal from this class—6-3 Ann Marie Hartung.

Only Sims has Texas listed in her list of schools.
Of course, only Sims is listing any schools.

From the TX team page, there are a couple more players that are listing schools as of now that TX is considering. The two other than Sims are outside the top 60, but are within the top 90......and both with a grade of 90.

thanks for the link. Bass sounds interesting. Horns really need some wings with size. I really wonder if Sims is serious about Texas. We have Flores coming in this fall and Cassie Peoples in 2011, both as PGs. For the same reason, Mays may be a reach.

I can't imagine that Ogwumike won't follow big sis to Stanford. But who knows. Maybe she wants to stay closer to home.

With Reed and Gayle on the team we may go another year class without signing another post player.

BabHorn,

Your subject line sort of threw me off as it made me think that the number of "uncommitted" recruits is less than the number of "committed" recruits. Doesn't seem like any of the 2010 in-state kids have committed, other than Karla Gilbert to Texas A&M.

Here's another national recruiting list I stumbled on a few weeks ago; notice that Chelsea Bass is rated as a Top 15 national player by this service:

Bass, along with Tiffany Moore and Kristen Grant, visited Texas unofficially last fall during the Texas/Mizzou football game, I believe.

There's been a lot of discussion on Baylorfans.com in the last couple of days about the 2010 class. Some say Odyssey is leaning to Texas, other say she'll re-commit to Baylor eventually. One poster said he spotted Tiffany Moore sitting in the stand with Coach G during the Girls' State Tourney.

Sims played SG with DFW Elite this past summer, while Lauren Flores played PG. I'm sure they were interchangeable, but looks like they are pretty versatile players. Pretty sure Moore, Bass, and Simmons played both SG and PG for their teams, but not positive.

"One poster said he spotted Tiffany Moore sitting in the stand with Coach G during the Girls' State Tourney."

Is this legal?

wonder why Texas isn't listed for Simmons in Rice's story, "Welcoming All Comers??

(sorry, i couldn't get the direct link to the story to work).

Regarding 2010 Texas target Chassidy Fussell:got these from a

provided by another poster. Interesting discussion about the upcoming high school season in the district that Chassidy Fussell plays in. The response to the quote about Chassidy trying to beat teams by herself is how I recall seeing her play at the UT camp, that is "She tries to get her teammates involved", Interesting recruiting tidbit at the end by GCPioneer.

From what I understood, we were the only in-state school Meighan Simmons was still considering. I thought our main competition was UNC b/c Simmons is originally from North Carolina, I believe. Coach G was spotted numerous times in the stands during Meighan's games this past winter. Where we stand at this point is anyone's guess.

As for Chassidy Fussell, I have to admit this is the first time I've heard anything about her. From the articles I just started reading, she seems like a very polished offensive player . . .

With four seniors on this season's team, Horns should sign at least two more, maybe up to four more players to go with Hartung and Bass. Wonder who will end up committing for 2010? I still think at least one more wing (Fussell?) is need to replace the size we will lose in Brit and Erika at that position.

I'm expecting (well, hoping) that we'll sign a huge class, numbers wise. We have 10 on the roster this season, and lose 3 or 4 (Kristen Nash redshirted her first season). That means we will have 8 or 9 scholarships available for the 2010 class; this is very scary, actually.

The only players I've read about which we are recruiting are Simmons, Moore, Fussell, and Ogwumike. Whether or not that is accurate is anyone's guess.

Hopefully, we're involved with other players as we really need some depth . . .
