There is no reason why UNC shouldn't go undefeated this season and win the national championship. I'll go as far as to say even one or two major injuries doesn't stop them. They are making good college teams look like a bunch of scrubs. It is not even funny.

While it's hard to disagree, people said the same thing about them last year...

I was thinking maybe undefeated before the season.

Nothing I've seen to date has changed that outlook.

Great coach, great talent, experience, hard work and tenacity. They look as good as any college team I've ever seen. I've only been watching college hoops seriously since laetner, hurley and hill though. I'm pretty sure I'd take this UNC team over those duke teams.

Especially when you factor in that there were a lot of talented/experienced teams then before the early influx to the nba. For this team to be as talented and experienced as it is is certainly more unique then 15 or 20 years ago.

Complete domination last night. Lawson looked real good, as did Ellington, and the frosh, Ed Davis. Best stat line of the night went to Lawson with 17 pts, 8 ast, 7 stl, and O TO.

That didn't come out quite right- when I said that I meant in relation to the rest of the game. I think this UNC team is more ahead of its era (one and done) then that duke team was ahead of its era (few early entries). Thus, more likely to go undefeated.

I haven't seen enough gof UNC to know if I'd like them straight up against those duke teams yet.

UNC is great, but they aren't even as good as their counterpart 3 years ago, especially without Zeller, so the convo about greatest team of all time (which I'm sure ESPN will start soon) will have to wait. UConn 2004 was stellar. Maryland 2002 was incredible, but the best team in recent memory was 2001 Duke with Jason Williams, Mike Dunleavy, Carlos Boozer, and Shane Battier. Williams and Battier were the two best players in the country. Not to mention that 'Zona team they beat in the final with Gilbert Arenas, Richard Jefferson, Jason Gardner, Michael Wright, Loren Woods, and Luke Walton. UNC is not above their era, nor are they even the best team that has been fielded by the school in the past 3 years...

I really liked that UNC team 3 years ago, but I think this one is better.

I'd also definately take this one over that 01 duke team.

I watched the game on mute last night b/c dickie v was too much for me to take. That's my thought, I might well be wrong. We'll have to see the season play out I suppose....

Too bad we cant start a lineup of:

Augustin
Abrams
Durant
James
Atchley

against them...

they should be automatically voted into the bcs final 4 against the sooners football team, the 96 bulls, and phi slamma jamma. there's no need to even play the games.

first of all I didn't even watch the game, so I'm assuming that they mentioned something about the 83 squad during the gaem, and yes, there are several teams in the past that could beat this UNC team. There may even be one or 2 current teams who can and will beat this team. Why is that such a stretch, or do you just take me for someone who regurgitates whatever the ESPN talking heads say? Have you ever even read one of my posts?

Heck, I'd say the national champion team from last year could beat this year's UNC team, expecially since they were up by 40 against virtually the same team in the final four.

I also think the Florida champion teams could beat them. I'd like to see how this UNC team responds to getting knocked in the mouth before deciding they are one of the greatest teams ever.
