Ok. Get this. Minnesota's Rachel Banham scored 52 points Sunday, breaking the Big Ten career scoring record....

...in a 114-106 LOSS to Michigan State.

She scored 52 points... And they lost.

When was the last time anyone saw a player in the women's game score 52 or both teams score over 100?

She scored 52. Her teammates scored 54 points... AND THEY LOST.

Remarkable.

Ohio state scored in triple digits the same night against someone. Is offense that prolific in the Big 10?

It's not just no D. I watched Ohio St. against Maryland, which is a very sound, athletic team that played a respectable game against UConn. Ohio St. has some extremely gifted scorers. They can light it up. I wouldn't want to play them on a night they were really hot. And Maryland is no slouch either. There are a lot of outstanding shooters in women's basketball.

Meanwhile Minnesota knocks off Ohio State 90-88 in OT tonight.
That might just be enough to get them off the bubble. And that is great for WBB. There are a few kids who you DONT want to see on your side of bracket, and Banham is most definitely one of them.

Creme still says they are out with horrible non conference schedule, no good road wins and getting wiped out on their own floor by a mediocre New Mexico team. May not see Banham in March Madness. As he said on Twitter, it's not about her, it's about the team's accomplishments (or lack of).

Yes on the bubble as one of the last four out. Honestly if they're even close to being in (first 4 out/Next four out) then I think they put them in. It would grow the attention of the game much more than having her out would do. She's literally been on sportscenter her last 3 games. The casual fan is just excited to see what she wil do

Maybe they'll make enough noise in the conf tourney because Creme says they not only had to knock off Ohio St, but need to win the Maryland game to even get on the bubble.

If so, will be interesting to see what the committee does and what "deserving" team is knocked out.

Minnesota moved into last four in with losses by Auburn & Michigan

Correction: Creme says that's based on a competitive showing against Maryland today. They are currently down by 40 points with 2:00 left in game
