I'm being offered an umbrella policy from my auto ins. co. (GEICO). They say it'll help me if I or anyone in my family get sued for some unforseen reason. My question is, what of my personal assets are protected (homestead, 401k, etc) by law in Texas?
I don't know about what is protected and what isn't but they are so cheap. A 1 million policy is a few hundred $$$ a year. I got one about 5 years ago, mostly when i bot my two german sheppards. From what i understand you can't get the policy written if you've any any traffic incidents in the last 3 years so Im not giving mine up.
