I don't ever recall similar Texas-related gear when the Horns were #1 last year in football for a couple of weeks. Or any previous time when Texas football is ranked #1 (IIRC, probably 1977 was the most recent time prior to last year, *not forgetting post-Rose Bowl 2006).

Or when Texas is ranked #1 in baseball.

Or when Texas reached the #1 ranking in men's basketball a week ago.


The only ranking that counts in any sport is the day after the last game is played for the season.

All else is good to be, fun to be recognized, but fleeting at best.


P.S., edit, checked out Mack's website; looks like Texas was #1 in football for one-week in each of 1984, and 1981, as well as the 1977 long-season run.
