Houston got the victory in the first game in Houston.

The rematch should be interesting with Urban getting the start. He has great stuff when he has command and keeps the ball down.

A win is always needed in a season like this and Tech heads to Norman this weekend so if we can do anything in Waco I think we have a great chance to move out of last place.
 
Urban in the first K's the first man lookng for out one.

A liner to right is out two.

A liner the opposite way goes through on the left side for a single to put a man on with one away.

Sharp grounders to short ends the frame on 6-4 FC.

No score as Texas comes to bat.
 
Hall leads off against a righty Garza for UH who got the win in the first game against Texas.

Hall grounds out to short for out one.

Weis now batting second as yet another shake up in the batting order is being tried and he drives one hight and deep to the power alley in right center and with a prevailing wind tonight it leaves the ball park for his first homer of the year as Texas takes a 1-0 lead.

Payton lines out to right for out two.

Hinojosa with a fly ball headed for the stands in left foul is brought back by the wind and is cauht in foul ground for out three to retire the side.

Texas leads 1-0 after an inning.
 
Urban out for the second induces a ground ball to second for out one.

Shallow pop fly to right and Payton calls everybody off and makes the catch for out two.

A fly ball to left is hauled in by Shaw to retire the side.

Felts in the DH slot tonight grounds out to short for out one.

B. Marlow grounds out to second for out two.

Ty Marlow looks at strike three for a K to end the inning.

Urban in the third gives up a lead off walk to put a man on.

After two more ball here comes Skip for a conference as Urban has lost his control.

A ground to short is a 6-4-3 double play for two quick outs.

A fly ball to center retires the side.

To the bottom of three as Texas leads 1-0.
 
Montalbano catching leads off with a little fly ball to center that drops for a single. Looked like the center fielder misjudged it and should have made the catch.

Shaw lines one foul that the right fielder slides into the side wall trying to make the play, but he is up.

Shaw with a jam shot that clears the second baseman for another single put runners at first and second.

Hall up to sacrifice pops it up to the first baseman charging up the line. Have to bunt that to the third base side with the first baseman crashing. It's out one as the runners hold.

Frank Anderson comes out to the mound and there is a pitching change.

A little lefty named Ford is brought in to face Weis.

Weis continues to struggle against lefties K's swinging on a pitchout of the zone for out two.

Payton K's looking to end a promising inning that went south when the sac bunt wasn't executed.

Urban in the fourth gets a pop to short for out one.

A ground ball to second is out two.

A fly ball to left retires the side.

Houston goes down in order and Texas leads still 1-0 as we head for the bottom half of four.
 
Hinojosas leads off and lines to center for the first out.

Felts grounds a single through the middle to put a man on.

B. Marlow flies out to shallow center for the second out.

Ty Marlow lines a single to right to put two on with two away.

Montalbano walks to load the bases.

This brings back Anderson to the mound for a meeting, but he stays in to face a lefty hitter in Shaw.

Shaw pops out on the first pitch and the bases are left loaded as Texas is back to stranding multiple runners.

Texas leads 1-0 after four.
 
Duke is on now to pitch in the top of the fifth and his first pitch is a dribbler out in front of the plate and Duke fields and throws and just nips the batter for out one.

A shallow fly to Payton in right is out two.

A slow grounder to first is a 3-1 put out as Duke covers for the inning ender as Houston goes in order.

Half way through the game and Texas leads 1-0.
 
Hall leads off the fifth and walks on a full count pitch to put another Texas runner on.

Weis is up as Hall steals second on a high fast ball.
Now Weis K's swinging again against the lefty on a pitch out of the zone for out two.

Payton also K's looking again for out two.

Now that he is past Weis and Payton here comes Anderson to make a change and bring in a righty to face Hinojosa.

Hinojosa up and Hall again steals second.
Now Hinojosa singles through the hole on the left side and Hall scores to make it 2-0.

Felts up and a pick off attempt on Hinojosa is very close, but he is called out to retire the side.

Texas now leads 2-0 after five.
 
Duke out for his second inning of work is greeted by a liner down the line in right that goes to the wall for a double to lead off the sixth.

The nine hole hitter walks to put the tying runs on with no outs.

With two strikes the hitter lays down a bunt that is a little too hard and Duke fields and nips the runner at third for the first out. Bunting has been a hard thing tonight for both teams.

A sharp single to left loads the bases with one away.

Skip heads to the mound, but leaves Duke in.

A pop up to first is out two.

A fly ball to center leaves the bases loaded for Houston as this looked like a mirror of the inning Texas had earlier tonight.

Texas leads 2-0 to the bottom of the sixth.
 
Felts leads off as he was batting when Hinojosa was picked off first and walks to put a man on.

B. Marlow can't gets the bunt and a ground ball up the middle that finds it way to center for a single to put two on.

Ty Marlow up and a wild pitch moves the runners to second and third.

Ty Marlow swings and misses for a K, but the pitch gets away and Felts scores to make it 3-0 and Marlow reaches.

Montalbano K's on three pitches swinging for another K and this one records out one.

Anderson comes out and makes a change.

Gottsacker pinch hits for Shaw against the lefty pitcher
K's swinging for out two.

Hall hits a little flair to center and the wind knocks it down and the center fielder dives but can't make the catch and Hall has a double and B. Marlow scores to make it 4-0 and Ty Marlow moves to third.

Weis earns a hat trick as he K's swinging against the lefty pitcher for his third consecutiv K after a homer againt a righty in his first at bat.

Texas leads 4-0 after six innings.
 
Duke still on the hill as the seventh starts a chopper to first and Ty Marlow charges and flips to Duke covering and it gets the batter by an eyelash for the first out. Duke barely got the bag with his toe and the Houston first base coach doesn't thinks so, but he did.

Another slow chopper this time to second and B. Marlow charges and barehands it and throws against his body and the low throw is dug out by his brother on a nice play at both ends for out two.

A K looking is the third out and ends the inning.

Texas leads 4-0 to the stretch.
 
Payton leads off and walks to put a man on.

Here comes Anderson to make another pitching change.

He brings in a big right named Lemoine to face Hinojosa.

Hinojosa can't get the bunt down and then walks on a full count to put two on.

Felts gets the bunt down finally for a sac and the runners move up as a light rain starts to fall.

B. Marlow with one away swings wildly at two pitches way out of the zone and K's swinging for the second out.

Ty Marlow had to come back from the bull pen to bat and grounds out to second to strand the runners.

After seven complete Texas leads 4-0.
 
Ty Marlow now goes to the mound and his first pitch in the eighth is flied to shallow right for out one.

Silver is now playing first.

A ground ball single up the middle puts a man on.

A fast ball taken right down the middle is a K looking for out two.

A walk puts two on.

A passed ball moves the runners up as Texas catchers had a lot of those this season.

A K looking ends the innings and strands the runners.

Texas still leads 4-0 as we go to the bottom of eight.
 
Montalbano leads off and lines out to first for out one.

Gottsacker now in left is up again and and soft liner again to first is out two.

Hall K's swinging to end the inning.

To the ninth going for the win and a possible shut out.

Texas leads 4-0.
 
Ty Marlow back out in the ninth and a fly ball to center is the first out.

Marlow comes all the way back from a 3-0 count and finally K's the batter swinging on about 11 pitches for out two.

A line drive to left to Gottsacker ends the game.

Texas gets the win and the shut out 4-0.

Always nice to win, but this team must win on the weekends just to reach the conference tournament.

That starts this weekend in Waco against Baylor.
