Not sure if this is the right forum or not but I wanted to make sure people saw it. I wanted to get this out there so y'all don't get the same treatment. DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT USE STEAM EXPRESS TO CLEAN YOUR CARPETS. Here’s the short version: they stood us up twice and then tried to screw us over by promising a free carpet cleaning and then trying to charge us for it when they showed up. All in all, my wife and I took off portions of 2 days of work, stayed home for Labor Day and still don’t have our carpets or vents cleaned.
Now here’s the long version. My wife scheduled Steam Express to come organically steam clean our carpet and air ducts last Thursday. They were supposed to show up at 4:00 so my wife took off work early and came home. Around 4:45 the technician called and asked if he could reschedule (they are open until 8:00 so it’s not like it was right before closing time). My wife said no since she had taken off work (and we were having a party on Saturday so we wanted the carpet done before then) and he huffed and said “I guess I’ll be there then” in an ugly put out way. He never showed up. When my wife called the main number they tried to call him and he didn’t answer so we said forget it we would use somebody else. In order to keep our business, they offered 20% off if they could come out at noon on Monday (yesterday, yes LABOR DAY) and we agreed. So yesterday they called at 11:45 and said they couldn’t make it. My wife and I were livid. My wife tore the guy on the phone a new one and hung up on him. He called back repeatedly and finally she answered to get him to stop harassing us. In order to keep us from dragging their name through the mud they offered to clean all our carpets for free and do the additional vents for free. My wife told him numerous times the only thing she would pay is $69 which is the original coupon price for cleaning 10 vents and expected everything that was originally supposed to be done to be done. He confirmed and made an appointment for 4:00 today. So today I took off work early and came home. They actually showed up today but the technician said they would only clean the carpet in 2 rooms for free (what the original coupon said) and I said that’s not what we agreed upon. He called back to his supervisor (David) to confirm and the guy he talked to confirmed. As he was doing this I called my wife to make sure he said the whole house. When I got off the phone with my wife I asked to talk to David. The technician gave me David’s number and I called him. He didn’t answer (he answered not 2 minutes earlier). Then the technician called him back and he answered right away. He again said no only 2 rooms and refused to talk to me. I told the technician to leave and slammed the door as he left. Not only did we get stood up twice (had to take off work both times to do it) they intentionally lied to us and tried to screw us by charging us a different price than what we agreed on when THEY called us and begged us to let them do the job. I’m not sure if I’m more ****** about not having my carpets cleaned or the fact that he refused to talk to me. I have his direct line and I already called 3 times last night and left him very nasty messages. I am planning on calling him in a little bit and we are going to have a heart to heart.
Just to be clear, this was the Austin location and they have locations in Houston and San Antonio also. I'm not sure about those locations, but I wouldn't give them a try either.
