UEFA Euro 2012 and Tv Schedule.

All matches are on here on ESPN International.

I like Germany to win over Spain in the finals.

After France won the WC in 98 with Zizou's greatness, I went and visited Vietnam in the summer of 2000 when they too won Euro with Trezeguet's golden goal. Staying up with my family to watch those games at 1 or 3 o'clock in the morning only intensified my love for futbol and the French national team. So from that point on, outside of the US, France has always been my international team. It also helped that Thierry Henry is my favorite player of all time, pleaseeeeee let that hand ball go, I've got an Irish friend that drills me about it all the time already. He's still on the fence whether to join us or not for Euro 2016 in......FRANCE!

So of course I will be cheering for France to win it all. But obviously the favorites are Espana, Germany, Netherlands. Out of those 3, if I must pick, it would be........ze Germans.

I've got the DVR set to record the next 12 matches that the tv schedule would allow me to go up to already. I'll be watching it at work, home, pubs, in my sleep, and anywhere there's a tv showing it.

VIVA LA FRANCE!

One moment I lean towards Zee Germans and the next Ethpana. I have to decide but for now I will continue to waiver.

Someone please explain to me why Nasri and Benzema were not on the 2010 roster.

Germany, France, Holland, and Spain should all make the semis, but beware the Poles. They have a good troika of players who led BD to the Bundesliga crown and they are playing at home.

As it is, I have a hard team seeing anyone but Germany winning the whole kielbasa.

Oh, and I have England crashing out after the first round. Some Golden Generation...

SPOILER OF THE DENMARK V. NETHERLANDS GAME

SPOILER

Holy macaroni, I would not have predicted this outcome. The Ned Nederlanders surely were the heavy favorite, right? I did not get to watch it but were they full force? Is Denmark that good or Netherlands slow out of the gate? Red card?

I have a couple of Danes who are very stoked right now.

Holland missed some shots, but the Dane goalkeeper, as well as the Denmark back line were solid throughout. Denmark also had the ball quite a bit. They capitalized on one of the few chances they had. Just cuz Denmark isn't one of the glamor teams of the group, they are by no means a slouch.

I agree. They could very well advance with stout defense and another one goal result. I just found it shocking and who knows, maybe the Ned's will wake up.

SPOILER FOR SPAIN V. ITALY MATCH

Either uninspired play by Spain or Italy was not as bad as pundits said as well as having di Natali back in the lineup had more impact than given credit for. I agree with the announcers that Spain did not play well enough to get 3 points and Italy very much deserves their point which I am sure they are happy with going forward.

My sister and her family are in Ireland as of yesterday so hopefully they can find a pub to watch the upcoming match. That or getting around town will be easier.

SPOILER ALERT SSSSSSSSSSPPPPPPPPOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Republic of Ireland vs. Croatia

Me Irish friend not happy.....me Irish's friend team lost today.

What terrible luck, all pun intended. The Irish got off to horrid start by conceding a goal within the first 3 minutes of the game. It got better as they later equalized from a set piece with an above average header. Thereafter, their luck went down the shitter. After a failed clearance by the Leprechauns, the ball only found the foot of Jelavic, who had a pretty good season with Everton this year, as he was one on one with Givens, he coolly sliced it home with a cheeky chip. The last goal was proof that luck does not exist, if you're an Ireland fan that is. A shot from outside the box from the Croatians hits the far post only to ricochet off Shea Givens and bounced into the back of the net.

Me Irish friend will need to eat a lot more Lucky Charms if he wants to see his team through.........

Damn it l00p I do have to work sometimes and can't update this thread all on my own. Where is FWHORN and Gemstatejim?????

SPOILER CAUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baguettes 1 - Ugly Teeth 1. A boring game to me for the most part. Lescott's header was simply amazing to open up the scoring. Nasri later equalized with an absolute beauty of a shot from outside of the box inside the near post to beat fellow club teammate, Joe Hart, to salvage a point for my Les Blues

Shevchenko 2 - Ibrahimovic 1. This game too for the most part was boring except for the goals. Shevchenko turned back the hands of time (why couldn't he do this for my club team, Chelsea?) and put in two jizztastically amazing headers. Ukraine fell behind after a beautiful soft flick from Ibrahimovic to redirect a pass from Kallstrom into the back of the net. Shevchenko then turned the Sandusky button on and raped everything that came his way. The first header to tie it came from a cross to draw level. The second goal was just gorgeous. From a corner, Shevchenko beats his counterpart, Ibrahimovic, and turned the corner into one of the prettiest goals of the tourney so far. Rounding the elongated-nosed Swede, he flicked the ball inside the near post to give his team the winning goal.

This wraps up the first round of group play with so many twists and turns and surprises. Looking forward to the second round of group play with more beautiful Futbol.

VIVA LA ******* FRANCE!!!!!!!!!

Well, Sandusky wasnt the first thing that went through my head when Shevchenko scored his goals, but I suppose the analogy works. Better than using that Norway mass murderer I guess.

And whats with Ibrahimovich? He looks like he should be playing for France, not Sweden.

Sorry big. I assume F-Dub is on the beach relaxing and GemState is on a hiatus. He's likely frolicking with Moose and Fish in his spare time. He's missed. May even be on other boards, dunno for sure.

Some people got the life don't they........? F-Dub is probably on the beach getting his guido tan on while sipping a pina colada with the missus.

STINKY ALERT!!!!

Denmark vs. Portugal & Nederlands vs. Nazis

I recorded both games but didn't have time to watch both, so what I always do is FF through it and stop when I see a goal. I did this for the Denmark vs. Portugal game only.

Denmark 2 - 3 Everyone else not named Ronaldo. Portugal was cruising when they went up 2-0. The Danes however refused to go quietly and later tied it up 2-2 after Bendtner's gorgeous header to draw level for his country. But in the 87th minute, the unlikeliest of people, Varela, scored the game winning goal. After failing to volley a cross from Coentrao inside the penalty area near the near post, he completely whiffed on the ball, but founded the ball again immediately and Shinkansened the ball home for the winner. Wow was this game fun to watch.

Dutch 1 vs. Deutsch 2. Now this game I did watch. Talk about a must win for the Oranje. And man oh man, they must still be suffering from the WC hang over. This game had it all, including an ACTUAL Arjen Robben injury, you read right, an ACTUAL Arjen Robben injury. I saw it with my own eyesssssss, he had blood coming from his polished noggin. Super Mario Gomez started the scoring when he collected a through ball from Bastian and beautifully turned and coolly slid it behind the Dutch keeper to give his side the lead. He then later turned the Sandusky button on once again to score his second goal of the game. Again, the same combination hooked up, Gomez collected a through ball from Bastian and riffled the ball home beating Stekelenburg, all of this before the first half ended. The second half was meh to me, saved for RVP's goal in the 73rd minute. From the top of the box, RVP picked up where he left off for Arsenal and rocketed the ball home with his "weaker" right foot. But in the end, it didn't make a ****. The Oranje are in deep doo doo now. 2 games into group play and they have as many points as Vietnam in the tourney, nil......

The group of death is for sure living up to its billing. With one game remaining, Germany is all set but to advance with 6 points, Portugal and Denmark are sitting at 3 points each, while the Oranje are at the bottom looking up hoping for a victory against Portugal by at least 2 goals or more when they play.

I know Ganja is legal in Amsterdam, but **** it looks like this Dutch team's defense smoked a bowl before each game because they're nowhere to be found.

June 17th is shaping up to be a beautiful day as all but Germany will be fighting for their lives and to advance. Stay tuned boys and girls, this is going to be fun!

Monsieur Bigk, just how is your morning/early afternoon today? I ask not wanting to spoil things just in case you are not en vivo. Tres Bien? Magnifique? Sacre Bleu?

l00p, I've been busy out the wazoo trying to plan for my wedding (10/20/2012), working on closing our house, and of course work. So my time has been scarce the last few days or so.

I had set the dvr to record today's games but because of the rain delay, the dvr didn't know that and when the game resumed, the dvr only caught the game from the 72nd minute and forward after my Les Blues had already gone up 2-0 with it later being the final score. So I didn't get to see the entire game or who scored the goals. I've set the dvr to record the rerun so I can watch the complete game later.

So my mood now is excellente, but France still need to at least draw with Sweden to advance possibly on goal differential as Sweden will look to play the spoiler role.

I'm excited about the weekend games as the stakes are higher and in turn I hope to see a lot of beautiful futbol.

FACT!

FWHORN is too busy tanning his guido *** hence his absence from this thread.

Gemstatejim has either been mauled by a unicorn and is now recovering or he joined the Peace Corp.

l00p is....well **** I never know what he's doing. Or if he's even a he at all...

So now that the group winners and runner-ups are set, so too are the knockout games. That SOB Imadoucheavic had to score one of the prettiest goals against mi Les Bleus so far in the tourney and with Larsson's lucky *** goal late, this has left mi Les Bleus to face the dream team of the Futbol world...Espana, what a luxury to have having Fabregas sitting on the BENCH!!!!!

Nonetheless, I still give mi Les Bleus a 40% chance of beating the (Bruce Buffer voice engaged) reigning....defending....outstanding...UNDISPUUUUUTEEEEED....UERO.....WORLD CUP......champions of the WOOOOOOOOORRLLLLLDDDDDD....... ESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSPPPPPPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAA.

Now my picks for the other games.

Ronaldo vs Cech: Hate to say it but Cech only save goals, not score them, they will get ousted

Nazis vs. Homer: Nazis.

Ugly teeth vs. Guidos: I can't stand either teams, so if a meteor does not hit the stadium, then if I was a betting man, which I am not, I would have to go with our cousins across the pond.

Calling all other soccer buffs to come and help me update this thread, I is only one man mang!

VIVE LA FRANCE

Germany should have won this game 8-0. Silly, but well executed goal at the beginning of the second half for Greece, and then a gimmie penalty kick.

4-2 does not even come close to representing the total and complete dominance the Germans put on display. Nice to see Germany can sit Gomez and Mueller and Podolski and they are almost better. What other country has that kind of offensive depth?

That said, the scoring didnt really open up UNTIL Mueller and Gomez came in, but I love having Klose as a starter.

FWHORN is tanning his guido ***

Its Greek *** my friend, Greek *** and I wish. Unfortunately, this tourny has come right as we are going through some major changes at the college I work at so I havent been able to pay nearly the attention I would have liked. I caught most of Germany/Greece and most of yesterdays Spain/France game and a few of the games last weekend but not nearly enough of what I would normally watch. Germany looks dominant and they are already my favorites for 2014 even in Brazil. Spain looks like Spain and they are so solid and so consistent. from what I have seen there is no reason to change my prediction from before the tourny of Germany over Spain in the finals. I hope to see a lot of England-Italy today as all the Brits on the island will pack our sports bars for that one.

The Red Fury engulfed the Blues. France had no business playing this deep or setting foot on the field against the Spaniards. They looked every bit the team that was embarrassed by Sweden to back into a match with Spain.

Then, Nasri and his posse of douchebags promptly got run out of the stadium.

But is anyone surprised? France has been a trainweck for years. Has any storied national team ever fallen so far so fast?

Nasri is just the latest egotistical cancer to ruin the Blue. With the timid and inept leadership of Domenec and Blanc, the French are so. . .well. . .uh. . .French.

And once again we are shown what a great man, leader, player and foundation ZiZou was for the French side. That guy's legacy just get bigger and bigger with each shortcoming. It's a shame to see because I like the French and often root for them. They need a leader, an actual leader in it for team and country, not themselves. They need the others to listen and follow. It's tough though with mega millionaires running around. They may not have the fire in their bellies.
