UEFA Champions round of 16 set

I don't even need to see the draw to know that I'll be shocked if Barcelona don't win this year. Xavi is turning into my favorite player and they've firmed up the back with Pique and Busquets to support Puyol. When it was Puyol and Marquez back there, you could count on one major gaffe per game.

I think the plan to beat them is the same as Inter. Make the game ugly and commit 8 to defend the box. Who can do that this year? Chelsea, maybe?

I'm not an Arsenal fan, but, as in the World Cup, I hope attractive soccer prevails. So, Barcelona wins it and Arsenal makes the semis.
 
Barcelona has to be overwhelming favorite. Have to like them to win it all.

Why: Best team last year beatenonly by a superior coaching job and they got better in off season. That superior coach is now with Real who just doesnt have the horses to keep up with Barca.
 
Barcelona seems to be playing the best right now. However AC Milan and Marseille could be a factor depending on the draw.

I don't see any of the EPL or Bundesliga teams challenging for anything other than not embarrassing themselves.
 
Barca rolls, too easy. They'll beat Arsenal twice, no need for aggregates. I think the EPL teams are pretty outclassed in this tournament. AC Milan is my darkhorse, depending on semi-draw.. adding Ibrahimovic and Robhino was huge for them. They should handle Spurs with conviction.

ManUre and Chelsea Advance to round of 8. Along with AC Milan, Inter, Shaktar, Schalke, Barca and Inter.
 
I have to add nothing original. Barca is in stride and seem poised to slice and dice their way to the title. Crazy things happen all the time so we'll see.

Wow. The Yanks aren't exactly representing in this tourney. We've got a bench warmer in Onyewu on Milan and a pseudo-yank in Germain Jones on Schalke.

Man U managed only a draw against Marseille, while Bayern Munich scored in the 90th minute after Julio Cesar was unable to corral a shot from Robben from just outside of the penalty box, Mario Gomez was there for the rebound.

Pretty lackluster round of 16 so far minus the Arsenal vs. Barcelona game. Hoping the next few games will produce more excitement.
 
Too bad we couldn't surprise Chelsea in Copenhagen, but that was expected with our 2 1/2 month winter layoff

Even though I was going for Barcelona, that was a weak *** 2nd yellow to RVP. Still I don't think it would have made a ****, when you don't have a single shot in the game it is hard to win.

Happy for Shakhtar, can't stand any of the damn Serie A teams.
 
Barcelona is great but they probably have one of the worst goalies I've seehn on a championship caliber team. He gets shot on about 2 times a game and is always giving up goals. That first game against Arsenal was a perfect example.
 
Man U off to the semis thanks to Ryan Giggs, who set up all three of the tie's goals vs. Chelsea.

Barcelona and Real Madrid poised to meet 4 times in a month.
