UEFA Champions League Final: Call your shot

Who wins?

Bayern Munich or Inter Milan.

This is easy for me. I love Bayern Munich (favorite team in Bundesliga) and LOATHE teams in the dirty, corrupt and shitbag Serie A. If that league ever conducted itself in a professional and legal manner I would lose my ire but they can't and don't. They are not real soccer.

Therefore my answer is a resounding BAYERN MUNICH for the win. This is all based on personal desire and nothing to do with personnel who won't be on the pitch, i.e. Ribery.

Forgot to put my score, oops.

Bayern 2-1 with a late goal to seal it up.

I call it thusly:

The match is even, 1-apiece, early in the second half when a fan, identified later as l00p, leaps over the railing, sheds the slicker that served as his only bit of clothing, and proceeds to streak up and down the pitch.

Fearing an attack, some of the athletes hasten to the sidelines. Others attempt to intervene. Marco Materazzi simply stares ... and smiles.

Finally, Holger Badstuber brings l00p down with a two-footed tackle from behind. As police escort l00p off the pitch, match referee Howard Webb issues Badstuber a straight red for his clumsy challenge. Protests ensue.

Suddenly realizing he is not the center of attention, Inter boss Jose Mourinho commits suicide by dropping a packet of Mentos into a 2-liter bottle of Pepsi and placing his mouth over the opening.

The match is abandoned. An awestruck public calls for l00p's head. Apparently still alive, Generalissimo Francisco Franco delivers the coup de grace on the one-year anniversary of Mourinho's passing. Though the execution is not televised, a bowl of week-old paella is rumored to be the means of slaughter.

And May 22 becomes forever known as a day of mourning for self-promoting, self-indulgent football managers everywhere.

You forgot to mention that the Italians would all lay down as if they got shot even though there was no contact. And believe me, I would make a direct line to Materazzi. I don't know if I could take that thug or not but I would love to find out. As I was wailing I would keep yelling out, "This is for Zizou!".

Then I would wake up and realize that I was in bed without the A/C on. Wait, this is not my bed, it is a floor in a room with bars. Why is everybody speaking espanish? Am I in...Spain? Why am I naked?

2-0 Inter. The Special One announces after the game that next year he will stay with Inter but also coach Real Madrid at the same time.

Awesome. I love reading about people bagging on the greatest gift to the beautiful game. That was a good one, ilsa.

That was a very pretty and very earned goal for Inter. Milito handled it well and with patience. Bayern has dominated possession and it has amounted to nothing other than being down a goal.

Aye, that was a fantastic finish from Milito. Such patience and precision! I wonder if we'll ever see a Yank display that sort of technique and composure on the ball?

It should be noted, however, that Milan got away with one of the most egregious handballs I've ever seen. I'm typically not for unintentional handballs leading to PKs, but the Milan defender punched the cross away as if he were the keeper. Absolutely inexcusable for that to go unpunished.

There is a certain amount of stuff like that which will always happen. Until they go to replay or somebody watching in a booth for quick response it just happens. I am okay with that no call, I guess. It has no affect that Inter is displaying top notch defense and a Bayern is not getting through even though they have had chances.

I was worried about how this match would be called early on but the official settled down a bit after setting a tone and displayed what he won't put up with. I think it worked.

The exchange between Robben and God was pretty cool. I guess they got to be friends in their time together.

Here's to a well played and injury free second half. I hope BM can make a match of it by leveling the score and maybe putting it away. They dodged two bullets and got hit by one.

Time to pee and prepare.

Are you going to chip in?

(for bail or Mentos, any and all is appreciated)

No, I have never done that with Mentos before but,
The Link

those guys sure have!

Milito the man of the match and easily. Congrats Inter fans if this stays the score and I don't see how it can't. 2-0. With Milito playing the way he is, Messi and Co. as well, this could be the year Argentina gets it done.

That is on paper and we have to see what they do on the pitch. It sure looks good for them at this time. Great season Bayern. I don't think not having Ribery made a difference because Inter is the better team.

Well that second goal was just sick. That move, against a world class defender, in the box -- Good Lord.

Now, bring on the World Cup!

It should be noted, however, that Milan got away with one of the most egregious handballs I've ever seen.

i actually thought it was a good non-call.

I agree and my loathing of Italy is well documented. ****, they don't even have to do anything for me to get sand in my down there.
