UConn game--matchups thoughts?

Haven't given this too much thought. but I think we are set at three spots with Ashley, Brit, and Ashleigh sure starters, imo. That leaves one post spot and a wing spot open. I think Earnie and Kat are the likely ones to start, with Earnie in the post. I'm assuming that UConn is only unsettled at the PG with Montgomery being the only starter graduating. Moore will be difficult for the Horns to counter. They have outstanding speed in the backcourt. Horns are going to have to counter with rebounding to negate fast breaks and strong shooting and getting to the FT line.

Now I wish I had taped last year's championship game. I didn't think we would see either of those teams before the NCAAs. I'll be rooting for Tech and the Horns to pull off the upsets in Nov.

Just guessing but I think this could be how the teams match out of the gate:
PG-- Ashleigh vs Lorin/Doty-- advantage Texas
SG-- Brittainey vs Hays--advantage Texas
SF-- Kat vs Greene--advantage tie
PF-- Earnie vs Maya--advantage Uconn
C-- Ashley vs Tina--advantage Uconn

I still think UConn takes the game but Horns D will have a lot to do with the final outcome. IIRC, the last game UT and UConn played, Horns were unable to keep UConn from fastbreaking and gave up too many open shots. Maya especially will be difficult to match up with. If our offense is on track and our shooters are hitting, Horns have a good shot at upsetting the Huskies.

Once the game starts, the situation will be pretty fluid and who is guarding whom will change as well as depending whether man to man or zone is being played.

I am really looking forward to seeing Ashley go against Tina. Tina is one of the best, if not the premier post player in the nation. I can see Ashley progressing to reach that level.
