Seems to be a developing trend. Mark Stoops at Kentucky offered a 13 year old DB recently and even Texas got into the game with the previously mentioned offer to Louisiana LB Dylan Moses.
I didn't realize my buddy actually knew this kid. He was held back an should have been a freshman last year. Still pretty early to offer a kid. And now he is transferring to Highland Park. Guess they didn't want to sit a couple of years at Southlake before playing varsity.
Anybody know if Lindell Stone is at Highland Park? Or did he stay at Southlake? Maybe he should skip high school altogether an go right on to UCLA.The Link
He's going to Highland Park. DMN confirmed that a few days ago. Saw this kid play in 7-on-7 tournaments the last 2 years. My son is a QB in the same grade class. Lindell is a big kid. He can make just about any throw and has a feel for the receivers as they come open, not just throwing to open receivers. If he progresses as he moves through high school then he will definitely live up to the hype that he's getting . He's good.
Evidently, this kid's Dad is a real nutjob. This is the Todd Marinovich project all over again. He's pretty wealthy and will spare no expense to promote his QB son. He actually hired Kevin Murray to be his personal trainer when he was in 4th or 5th grade. He claims it was the son's idea to go to an all boys boarding school in VA. Lord help the coach of that team. He doesn't know what he just got into. I don't think it's a coincidence that this story keeps making the Dallas Morning News website. It smells of the mentally deranged father's handiwork. The Link
I've talked to this kid's dad before trying to set up 7-on-7 scrimmages before this summer's season. Didn't come across to me as an out of control parent. Didn't even mention to me that his son was the QB of the team actually. I do know one thing, though. The kid can play. There's a lot of time between now and when 2017 arrives and some kids peak out quickly, but if he does progress, he'll be a good one.
