UCLA Game Hotel

I was playing around with Priceline and bid on a 3 1/2 star hotel for Pasadena (highest star rating for Pasadena) from 16 to 18 September. Bid $75 and it it was accepted at the Sheraton Pasadena. Not too bad. Just sayin.

You'll be close to the game but not much else.

We're still trying to decide where to stay, but it kinda depends on how long of a trip we're going to make it.

yeah, not much good going on in Pasadena. Most folks usually stay closer to downtown LA/Hollywood or further south in Disney area

We stayed at the Sheraton Pasadena for the 2010 Rose Bowl. Nice enough hotel and Pasadena is a quaint town. They have a "main street" that is walking distance from the hotel with shops and restaurants. Not the glitz of LA but picturesque. Eat at Marston's restaurant on E. Walnut...especially for breakfast.

Sheraton has large rooms but is not that great of a hotel. Parking is under the hotel and I think is pay. you are 2.5 miles from the Rose Bowl.

You are a half mile from the main strip downtown and there are some good places to go. Lucky Baldwins is great for beer. Sushi Roku, while expensive, it is good and Barney's Beanery is good for hangover breakfast and place to watch games (lots of TVs).

Flying in - Burbank is closest and usually not much more $. Depending on where you are coming from it could be a good option. Actually, if you are taking a cab the cost difference could be a wash. Its a small airport and easy to navigate.

I am sure others will disagree (that is what a discuss is for).

For the 2004 season Rose Bowl Santa Monica sidewalks were packed with Longhorn fans.
For anyone with military connections, I recommend Ft. McArthur souht of Long Beach. It's a straight shot up to Pasadena and pretty close to Redondo, Manhattan, & Hermosa Beach & Santa Monica. Near LAX.
