Wow...What a great match!
Those Serbians were VERY tough, but they were no match for Clay Stanley and my boy (Texan) Riley Salmon. He was nails there at the end...undersized as an outside hitter going against the huge Serbian block and gettin' it done!
Wow...how many times have I sat at Aussie's and watched a half-drunk Riley battle fellow pro Tim Wooliver in a final after dominating a local two-man open field...and now I'm watching him in Beijing hitting through blocks and making huge passes on the best hitters and blockers in the world. Hell, he even blocked Milkovich.
Fitting that Riley hit through the block for the point that won the match and sent the U.S. team to the semis.
Life is good.
