U.S. Drones Killing Al-Qaeda in Yemen

It might be easier to identify the Middle Eastern countries where we don't have some sort of military operations in progress.

Question is, how many have congressional authorization?

See we have this thing called the U.S. Constitution....

That was what Obama swore he would protect and defend. See this is shy we should not have lawyers running anything.

after observing this administration for the past 2.5 years and the behavior of the media and press, i guess we can assume they have no interest in what powers the executive branch has seized. i imagine things will be quite easy for the next republican president.

I thought the Conservatives, these Freedom Loving Good American Patriots, were more concerned with killing our enemies and protecting the American Way than fretting over some pedestrian legal/administrative details.

except the conservatives are the ones that followed the rules, crossed their t's and dotted their i's on everything when it came to foreign action. you may not have liked it but congress was briefed on everything and they approved it.

I can see where drones kiling innocent civilians and now airstrikes killing civilians ( if it hasn't happene yet tt wil soon; yemen will announce we killed civilians at a wedding, funeral school graduation etc) will endear us to the Muslims.
Of course doing it secretively will only enhance our image in the Arab world.

what is an interesting note to our media is that when we were fighting our wars under bush, any civillian death was a travesty and a war crime, even if the information was coming from iraq state television. now, it seems that civillian deaths are simply a casualty of war, not outrage...strange....

It was the Congress of the United States, as required by the Constitution of the United States.

The conservatives followed all the rules when they lied about them Weapons of Mass Destruction. You guys don't even try to keep your lies straight anymore.

I've always been for intelligence and special ops intensive campaigns against the terrorists who mean this country harm. The intelligence intensity is to be as sure as we can.

If we're being more careful with the drones to the point of rarely bombing weddings or gatherings of shepherds, then I'm okay with that, too. I prefer special forces be used where possible for added certainty about what is actually happening on the ground.

I think Constitutional issues are worth raising and trying to resolve. I'd like to see that happen outside of the hoots and teeth gnashing of the usual hysterical suspects who see things only through partisan election contests.

The American people dont run this country. Corporations, Banks and foreign interests do. All major candidates have sworn to basically do so, and those that dont get drowned out by those that do. Ill try to look for the actual document signed all relevant parties attesting to this, but it may take a while. That is obviously the only thing that will convince most people that this is true.
