Swoops looks great, but the most popular QB in town is often someone who is not playing. Let's see what the guys we have now can do with last year under their belts before we write both of them off. OK?
I didn’t get the impression from the OP that anyone was being written off, just appreciating a great looking recruit that’s coming to UT. I’m excited about Swoopes.
It'll be interesting to see how Harsin handles this situation. He obviously doesn't leave any strings dangling considering how he handled the GG issue at the beginning of last year.
Brewer has confidence that we haven't seen from a QB since Colt played against A&M in 2009. Even with scrub walkon receivers in the Spring Game, he was putting the ball right where it needed to be and not getting happy feet. He'll most likely be a rs-freshman when Swoopes is a true frosh.
With all the undergrad QBs on campus my hope is that Swoops is amiable to a RS (just like Vince) and that he works on his mechanics, knowledge, and speed of the game and is well prepared to take over in 2014.
