Tyler Middleton

Reportedly we are still going after Aaron Grreen and Tyler Middleton, RB out of Midland High.

Is Malcolm Brown not a solid commit or are coaches making sure to have insurance policies as a result of Perriloux factor?

Anyone heard of Tyler Middleton? I live in Midland and have barely heard anything.

Malcolm Brown is solid. I have heard nothing otherwise. Why would he not be? He took his time with his family and made his choice after a great deal of thought. He will be the #1 RB the day he walks on campus.

Have to ask what your source is for Middleton? link?

He is about 175, not an every down back in college at that size. We have a stable of those size guys now. He and Green are viewed as situational backs, not every down backs. Not that that is bad, but their recruitment seems to have no correlation to Brown regarding his use versus theirs.

We need some more running backs in the pipeline. The only two running backs on campus from the 2009 and 2010 classes are Whaley, who may move to TE and Traylon Shead. Wtih an injury or two we'll need more backs by 2012-14

I guess, i'll have to check him out in person. Scarborough had a blurb in his update about middleton.

Also, I think Barry Sanders' kid is on the radar for next year's recruitment as well as Gray.

Stats for Middleton through 5 games. The Link

Strange, if you haven't heard of Middleton then you haven't been paying attention. He set a Midland High school record for most touchdowns scored in a game (6) and then turned around the next week and scored 5 more.

I'm pretty sure he weighs more that 175, I would guess more like 185. He has really good speed and I think was the district 3-5A 100 meter champ as a junior. He's got a lot of talent but probably needs more work running between the tackles. I'm curious to see how he does when he gets into the meat of the 3-5A schedule.

I haven't heard of him and I've been paying ample attention. I'm sure you're affiliated with the team or city in some way. No need to be patronizing.

I confess i have not been paying attention, i thougth that was obvious since after all i do live in Midland..that's pretty much why I posted on here. I didn't take it personally and furthemore you provided the info i sought...thanks!

I talked with him and watched part of the Tex-ou game saturday. He didnt seem very impressed by Texas. Not real happy that Texas just started recruiting him when others in the big 12 have been after him for a while. He is a talented kid no doubt. Would love to see him wearing burnt orange but i dont think its going to happen.

Very doubtful that we have room for him. We may offer a gray shirt, but I know for a fact the coaches are scrambling over scholarship numbers right now for 2011. With Hills taking a redshirt and Allen (sr) getting one it complicates things. Rivals lists Middleton with offers from North Texas and Montana State. Not sure if that is up to date.
