This is the 1st time that I have watched Memphis play all year, and I am impressed as hell w/ Evans. When he chose Memphis, I didn't think we lost that much, but damn what could we have done this year w/ him. Yeah, I know he's probably a 1 n done player, but he still would have been fun to watch.

Texas never truly had a shot at him. Not only did Memphis have Worldwide Wes on their side, but they hired Evans' trainer to be on their staff as part of their effort to reward his entourage.

But yeah. He's good. Avery Bradley and Jordan Hamilton are on the same level. Seriously.

The 2008 class wasn't as good as the 2009 class.

I'm putting the right expectations on them. If you'd seen them play --- and I've seen them, and I saw Tyreke Evans in high school as well --- you'd know what I'm talking about.

Tristan Thompson is ranked by many people as the #1 player in his class, and I don't consider him as much of a can't miss as Bradley and Hamilton. I don't necessarily think one of them will be Freshman of the Year the way Evans has been, but barring injury, they'll be in the equation.

I can't emphasize it enough. They're really good.

Ty Evans was the #1 pick in an '08 class that was about as strong as Kevin Durant in the bench press. And for the record, he was #6 on Rivals and 5 on Scout. And he's far from a lock for a top 5 pick. Probably won't even be the first PG from the '08 HS class selected.

The '09 class is MUCH, MUCH stronger than last year's class, so when you have guys like Bradley (10 on scout, 8 on Rivals) and Hamilton (13 on Scout, 5 on Rivals) coming in, its not some outlandish claim when saying they're gonna be an Evans level player. Its not like Evans put up 35 every game. He averaged like 18 as a shoot first PG. He's an incredible scorer and very good point guard, but he's not the guaranteed second coming of Magic Johnson. He's Memphis's second best PG in the last two years, and after next year he'll be #3 out of the list of Rose, himself, and John Wall.

What iowahorn11 said.

BTW, the class Memphis has coming in puts UT's to shame. Especially once John Wall signs with them. It's an obscene level of talent. If Evans stayed --- which he won't --- he might be the 4th most talented player on his team after Cousins, Wall, and Henry.

Wall will not go to Memphis if Evans stays. But it is all moot because Evans is gone, Wall is going to Memphis, and they have a sick amount of talent coming in. The only way we compete with a team with that amount of talent is if Pittman stays and Jai Lucas comes in and takes the reins of the team and can shoot and dsitribute the ball well (assuming Bradley and Hamilton are all what we expect they will be).

Believe it or not but Bradley and Hamilton are great players in all aspects of the game. I read that Hamilton does not play with Damions heart, Hamilton is all around better player then James, I will agree that at times Hamilton gets bored with the competition but he is the real thing at the 3/2 slots.
Avery is 100% in the ball game at all times, Avery is such a good scorer at the 2 slot that he will be overlooked at the PG slot where I think he will be at the next level due to his skill set.
Memphis will have the top class when Wall signs, Henry may be a ? mark due to his injuries but its the top class IMO.
Texas is in the top 5-6 range

Henry is absolutely fine, I saw him playing in the Oklahoma state title game on TV a week ago...

Agreed that Memphis could have the best class of all time. I love Wall and Henry, but I don't think Cousins has near the talent of those two or Evans, though he's really good also. He needs to get his body the hell in shape, man he's gotten chubby lately.
