not only are our bats silent, but we have already K'ed 6 times...this is Texas State correct?

Man, this offense is going to put me in my coffin before I am 40!
 
Only 12 games in but this season is starting to get defined by offensive futility. Best pitching staff I have seen in a long time but the hitting is not just a little bad it is terrible. Someone wake up the bats and this is an NC team.

Why when everyone and their cousin knew the safety squeeze was on did we not hit away? Look I know Augie is the best college baseball coach of all time and he has forgotten more baseball than I could know but his obsession with the bunt is beyond frustrating. he has an incredible pitching staff but he is going to force them to be perfect every time with this style of play. I just dont get it.
 
Texas rallies for 1 in the 7th and 3 in the 8th to take a 4-3 lead. Most likely Chance will come in to face the 4-5-6 hitters in the top of the 9th.

Another giveaway out with a bunt that got the lead runner thrown out anyway, but the bats have awoken.

This offense still needs a lot of work, but a win is a win, and as long as this team continues to win the close ones when they count, that's all we can ask for.
 
FWHORN - I think what you're seeing here is a lesson Augie took away from last year. To many folks suprise, Augie really didn't work on the bunt in the first 1/3 to 1/2 of the season, and then there were several instances late in the year when we couldn't pull it off when we needed it.

I honestly think he's trying to go back to the basics early here. Get these guys used to giving themselves up.
 
it was Southwest Texas State University. They screwed up the name, they had some weird reasoning. I'm not sure if it had something to do with creating a new logo and making money, but whatever the reasoning, it had a decent name.
 
I'm glad they were able to grab the "generic" Texas State moniker before aggy got it. They have been trying to distance from the agricultural name / tradition for years, and I thought they would try to copy off off Okie State's example.

In addition, I always thought SWT was a name that belonged on Sul Ross because that place is in southwest Texas. San Marcos is too close to the middle of the state to be SWT, imo.
 
yeah, kind of makes you wonder why the originators didn't just call it South Texas Teachers College.

speaking of Sul Ross, anybody think that kicker will get a tryout with the Cowboys?
