Even though they lost at Baylor 80-74, Tech played their best road game of the year tonight. Just a guess here, but I don't think this is a coincidence. They will play more relaxed under Pat Knight. Under Bob, they were awful on the road for years.

It's no coincidence at all that Washington State is much better under Tony Bennett than under his dad and that Drake is far better with Keno Davis, Dr. Tom's son. The dads were great coaches and made their programs a little better, but no doubt these younger coaches are able to connect with the players better. I think Pat will do the same thing at Tech.

And then there's Sean, the exception to your hypothesis.

If Sutton, could get his team to play defense like Eddie did, then much would be forgiven on his shortcomings.

I don't know about Drake and what shape the father left the program, but I will withhold judgment on Pat Knight and his effect on the team til next season. A game, two nights after Knight retires is too early to tell.

Washington State is better, but the father would have done well with the quality of those two guards.

Tech isn't very good, Baylor played simply awful last night.

Sean Sutton is the exception to every rule. He simply can't coach. The others are qualified.

Tech doesn't have the most talent by any stretch, but they've been so different at home versus the road the last couple of seasons there just has to be a reason for it. Me thinks they'll be much more relaxed playing for someone they can better relate to.

It could just have easily been a win one for the gipper game, since they didn't know Knight was leaving. Or win one for the new guy, who the hell knows.

I think time will show one of Knights strenghts was adapting in a game, I wonder how sonny-boy will do.

Sutton is lucky that he has a bunch of highly sought after players on his team. Harris, Eaton, Anderson, Munuelo, etc were all very highly regarded out of HS.

baylor had a weird night. lots of production out of the big white stiffs which is weird. usually lomers doesnt contribute very much. also, dugat had an off night. tech defended the 3 very well.
