First of all, HAPPY 4TH TO EVERYONE!!!

I’ve been wanting to post this from the moment I heard of bin laden’s death but I’ve had a crazy time at work plus for some reason, I can’t connect to hornfans from my wireless router here in north dallas (time warner)! So, apologies for posting news that is 2 months old!

Back to the topic, thus ended the life of one of the most infamous human beings to ever live. This was an epic victory/milestone in the fight against al qaeda! This is the reason I supported Obama – he said FROM THE BEGINNING, that we need to re-focus on af/pak and that this is where the war on terrorism is! I don’t want to sound partisan but suffice to say that because of our foolish misadventure in Iraq, we ended up not getting bin laden, wasting lives and treasure on Iraq and not being able to significantly degrade AQ.

Where do we stand now? Well,,we’ve got bin laden and almost half the top and mid level leadership of AQ (according to our military estimates), the rest of them are hunkered down in Pakistan. Hopefully we’ll have a few more of these covert raids and take out zawahiri and some other leaders as well keep going after al shabab and the others in the Arabian peninsula.

For the first time since our fight against AQ, I feel CONFIDENT that we’re gonna win this! We’re gonna wipe them out and even though there will be offshoots, atleast this one can be chalked up as one for the dustbin of history.

Good Job President Obama, AND CONGRATS TO ALL THE SEALS & INTELLIGENCE FOLKS for this fantastic achievement!!!

Johnny: It's a D-link Wireless G router. Now, I've not tried to hard wire directly into my laptop from the modem to see if this is a router issue but I'll prolly try that over the weekend.

What is the cable modem though?

TW gave me an Ubee cable modem that can also be used as a wireless router. Because I like my router I only use the modem for a modem and then connect it to my router. Well, because the Ubee has the router capabilities, it was causing a "double-NAT" situation and I had to put the Ubee into "bridge mode". I have a very basic understanding of what all that means...but what it meant for me is Hornfans worked.

TW would have you connect directly to the modem, which would likely work, and then they'd tell you that your router is the problem - when in reality it's not the problem at all. Then you'd try a new router, have the same problem, and pull your f'ing hair out like I did.

So you could have the same problem if the cable modem has router functionality. If not then I don't really know.

Sure no problem. My email is on my profile too so feel free to email as well. Hope it helps because I know how maddening it was for me until I finally got it.
