KC is up on NE 3-0. KC had to settle for a field goal after its opening drive stalled around the 10 yd line. NE did nothing on first drive with backup Hoyer (replacing a COVID-positive Newton at QB). KC went nowhere on its second drive. NE has to punt after only one first down on its second drive. KC starts inside its own 10 on its next possession. 3 plays later, KC is already at NE 49. Next play down to NE 26. Chiefs have to settle for FG again. 6-0. On first play of NE's next drive, Hoyer throws too high over receiver's head and is picked. KC starts inside NE 30. NE is putting a good rush on Mahomes on many plays. Mahomes completes pass close to first down, but receiver fumbles and Pats recover. NE driving.. Down to KC 26. Third and 11. Incomplete pass. FG good. 6-3 with 9:30 left until half.

Terrible call--Mahomes fumbles, and NE defender picks it out of the air. However, ref inexplicably ruled Mahomes down before fumble (he was in the process of trying to start to throw it). Then Hoyer takes Pats down within easy field goal range with 30 seconds left but he gets sacked on next down as time expires because Pats had no timeouts left. Awful mistake by the QB. NE stymies Mahomes for most of first half.

This is gonna piss off Belichick--great drive by Patriots, but Hoyer fumbles while being sacked and refs rule this one a fumble with a KC recovery, while they gave Mahomes a break in a similar situation in the first half. Chiefs take advantage; drive the field; and score the first TD of the game 13-3. Belichick doesn't like mistakes and Hoyer has made several big ones. Stidham replaces him. NE driving well into KC's territory as third quarter ends.

Stidham leads NE on TD drive ending with short TD pass. 13-10. KC answers with a TD drive. Missed PAT Lead at 9.

GB up 7-0 over Atlanta. On next GB drive, Atlanta holds with 4th and inches at Atlanta goal line. Not a good place to start a drive however.

Edelman drops an easy pass right in his hands. Defender takes it for pick six. 26-10. KC intercepts Stidham in the end zone. Fourth turnover for Pats. Can't win that way.

Atlanta keeps drive alive that started inside its own one. Completes fourth down pass to Julio Jones. Third and long at the GB 20. 4th and 2 at the 11. They are going for it. Wildcat formation. Timeout. Ryan in shotgun out ot time out. Runs for it--makes it. First and goal at the five. Gurley tackled for a loss. Gurley straight ahead. Third and goal from just outside the five. Incomplete pass on 20th play of 10+ minute drive. FG attempt. Good. 7-3. GB comes back with long drive. No fair against Atlanta's young secondary. TD pass to tight end. Missed extra point. 13-3. . . . Rodgers leads Packers on another quick TD drive as time winding down in the half. 20-7.

New England's defense was impressive enough last year. With like 6 guys opting out this year, it's somehow managed to be that good again in 2020. So impressed with Belichick.

Yeah if Pats had their starting QB or even a full week to prepare the backup, they likely could have won the game.

It might be true, but when you have a key player who thinks he knows better and doesn't follow the rules, this is what you get. Cam Newton has always done what is best for Cam to the detriment of his teammates and organization.

It's so dumb that this stuff isn't reviewable. Everybody gets that you can't review what happens after the whistle blows because players slow down or hesitate or stop playing altogether. But this happened before the whistle, therefore logically should be reviewable.
