The Link
A neo noir, grifter flick starring Samuel L. Jackson having a decent plot with some unexpected twists.
Compare with "The Grifters," "The Prestige" and "The Sting."
Good acting, an informative set up of the con and believable violence were pluses, however no nudity or on screen sex was a let down for me.
The Link
Good acting and an imaginative story line enhanced this coming of age flick.
Nice animation of the male characters' thoughts and two excellent female characterizations by Jena Malone and Jodie Foster are featured.
Compare to "Stand By Me," director Alfonso Cuaron's "Y Tu Mama Tambien" and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."
No nudity or actual sex was shown, but my dear wife says this realistic depiction of growing up in a Catholic school reminded her of similar events from such days involving her three sisters and her four brothers.
Myself, I had to settle with being reminded of "The Last Picture Show."
Anyone seen either of these?
