I am guessing that there will be two regionals covered by ESPN & ESPN2. I don't expect it to be the Austin regional.
Question: If ya'll had your choice of ESPN/ESPN2 with their announcers or Texas Internet coverage with Craig & Keith, which would you chose?
I would probably go with TV since it would be good PR for us, plus better camera angles and the ability to his "pause" when I need to excuse myself from the game briefly.
Question: When watching ESPN on DirecTV and listening to Craig & Keith on Yahoo!, how close is the timing of the two.
Queston: Did anyone notice on the Big 12 TV that if you go full screen, the video gradually gets behind the audio by maybe 5 seconds per minute, but if you reduce the video to small screen, they are in sync, and then you can go back to full screen until the delay gets to be too annoying.
Question: Do ya'll think I ask too many questions?
I wondered if the full screen was what was causing that. I tried to use that so that I could play computer games or something while listening to the audio and then going back to the video if something interesting happened. I did notice that when I went small screen that they seemed more in sync.
LMAO....hell no you don't ask too many question as I wonder about these things as well!!!!! I myself try to listen to Craig any way I can by slightly pausing my u-verse dvr any way I can to match it up with the audio. Today I had to just live with Craig calling the play about 2 seconds before I could see it. Or I'll watch online whenever possible and try the same thing, but I am in Austin so it's easier.
If it's a game at the Disch, I don't mind watching online. I can hook up my computer to my TV and see it on a bigger screen if I really feel the urge. And the camera angles at the Disch are MUCH better than what we saw from the Big 12 website. It feels much more "TV like" than any other online set-up I have seen from other schools.
I have yet to see a college baseball announcer on TV that I thought was any good, other than when they soometimes get Keith Moreland to do color for games at the Disch. If ESPN ends up selecting Austin for TV coverage this weekend, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they ask Keith to help out.
I guess my problem with these announcers is that if they aren't incredibly biased (like Greg Lucas), they just don't know anything about college baseball. They don't know the players or the coaches. They don't know the strategies that different teams employ. It's very similar to listening to Howie Long and Terry Bradshaw call a college football game. They see a player who makes a couple of great plays, and suddenly he's the best player in all of college baseball, when really, they just don't know any better.
