Turnovers and missed free throws..

I'm sorry, but if you are a player on a major college program, you should not be 6-26 from the ******* freethrow line.
oh, and then get put on a poster. ouch.

Amen!

Was about to post the exact same thing....Got on here, but you beat me to it!

If we were just even in turnovers and free throws, not better than Duke, just even, we might be leading this game by 10 or more. We have 9 more turnovers than they do and have missed a bunch more FT's than they have. What is wrong with this team's ability to pass the ball? They try to put in too tight of spaces.

The other problem here is that Balbay, Gary Johnson (when he is in), and Mason refuse to shoot for the most part, so any defender can simply sag down and cut off the passing lanes. Makes defense really easy.

We have no point guard and one guy that can shoot a basketball(AJ). We play NO defense and have no idea what to do on offense. We're down 7 with 6 minutes left to a team that has averaged beating us by 30. Pretty good performance considering. Next year will be much better(sorry if I sound a little aggyish).

Amazing we were even in this game considering the FT, TO, and 3 pt percentage. Pretty much a solid game on defense and a lot of hustle all around, but our weaknesses prevail.

We lose AJ and probably James which is huge. But Pittman is becoming a beast and Ward looks like he's coming on. If Dogus can learn to take a shot and draw a defender it will help immensely. Question is, do we have any shooters on next year's team?

James' stock has dropped. I'll bet he comes back. Lucas is going to be a big improvement at point. The incoming freshmen will help. This team has to get smarter and learn to shoot free throws.

Chapman needs to shoot a minimum of a thousand free throws a day between now and next season. Obviously the guy doesn't practice them enough. He's slow and can't jump to begin with, so if he can't shoot he's really a liability on the court.

Sorry, but if Chapman is athletic I don't see it. What I do see is opponents driving past him, quite often resulting in a foul because he is out of position. He can however set a decent offensive screen and grab a rebound pretty well if it bounces directly to him.

You and I aren't seeing the same thing, Third Coast. For most of the season he hasn't been able to make a bucket to save his life --- free throws, jumpers, layups, or dunks all clank off the rims --- but between the baskets I think he's done some good things. Even with his woeful shooting, there's been a couple of times he's let loose with a turnaround jumper that looks downright graceful...or as graceful as a brick shot can look, anyway.

Late in the season he's actually started to come on. Not as soon or as much as I'd hoped for, but at least we're starting to see some glimmers of what he's capable of.

Anyway, we'll have to agree to disagree. Assuming he's here next year --- and I have no reason to expect he won't be --- we'll see if his game has improved at all.
