Turgeon to Oregon?

Seth Davis thinks it's possible, but he admittedly has little basis for his guess. If offered by Oregon, it would not surprise me if Turgeon stayed at ATM.

My sense from PDX is that Turgeon does not make a big enough “splash” and/or he does not have enough west coast connection, so he will not be selected.

the connection is that turge coached at oregon and was supposedly a viable candidate when the hired kent back in 1997 (i think).

i think the potential of oregon offering 3 mil will make any coach stop and take notice. that being said, i dont think turge will leave. i think he likes the program that he's building right now.

so far the names associated with the job are donovan, few, carlesimo, and turge. they'd be wise to look at alford and even scott drew as well.

Just as long as they don't hire Jamie Dixon. We do not need another "grinder" coach in the Pac 10. Watching Howland and Sendek try to micro-manage their teams and squash any momentum either way to win a 54-48 thriller is freaking brutal.

i think the coach that the end up with be either carlesimo, few, alford, or drew.

According to an article in today's Oregonian, Phil Knight wants Tubby Smith.

Tubby has apparently turned them down. Turge has agreed in terms to a new deal at a&m.

Oregon is running out of options.
