Tumi Luggage

What are your thoughts on Tumi versus other luggage brands? For you frequent travelers, which brand do you use?

I'm sick of going through garment bags and heard the Tumi wheeled garment carry-on is pretty good (expensive though).

my thoughts are I wouldn't pay a lot of money for a fancy name for something that is going to get absolutely abused.

It's all I carry, but I travel weekly. Some pretty good deals at the Tumi outlet in San Marcos. There's a high quality less expensive line called Tumi Tech that you may check out.

The airline crews have used Purdy Neat Stuff for years. Durable and guaranteed. I used one bag for over 15 years and had to have one zipper repaired. Check out their "stuff".

Tumi (to me) is great and worth the money. I routinely travel 150k+ miles/year for work, and my Tumi has been a trooper over the last 3 years. Compare that to my first suitcase I bought out of college which lasted 5 round trips.

I decided to go for it with Tumi. They have a sale ($100 off for a $300 purchase). I bought an airport friendly laptop bag and wheeled carry-on garment bag. Love them both. I fly roundtrip from Los Angeles to Chicago each week (how I justified spending alot for luggage).
