Wow this is very sad. I would think that if Griffin got hit that hard somewhere else in the game someone would have noticed other than Blake. Especially with all the camera angles and the thousands of fans at the game.
!. The Longhorns slapped Griffin twice in the face and then slugged him in the jaw. Of course nobody, including Griffin, can find evidence of that slug to the jaw on videotape.
2. OU played UNC tougher than anybody else on the road to the Final 4. Guess he missed their 2nd round game with LSU. They were even with the Tar Heels with 5 minutes to go; the OU game was over by halftime.
3. Remakably, this guy then caps his argument by comparing the final score of the UNC-MSU game to the final score of the UNC-OU game as proof that the Sooners deserved to be there.
Want to compare final scores to see who should have been there, Mr. Sittler? How about these. Texas 45, OU 35. Florida 24, OU 14.
"Had OU been the No. 1 seed in any other regional, it wouldn't have played North Carolina, the best and hottest team in the country, until the national championship game."
I'm still trying to figure this one out. So if OU was the #1 seed in the East they would not have had to play the South Regional Champion (UNC) until the Championship game? I bet Villanova would have liked to have known about this.
A Sooner athletic department formely rife with paid athletes, felons, and would-be intimidators is now reduced to back-dooring its way into title games and crying about physical play.
They should morph that stupid paper clip logo into a vagina.
Wasn't Griffin like 9-12 from the field with 16 rebounds?
Man, Pittman has one monster forearm, if it can connect with Blake Griffin and make Warren, Austin, Crocker, and Davis combine to go 2-19 from three point land more than a month later.
Edit: Oh, now I read the article, I now see the writer is complaining OU would have been a 1 seed facing UNC in the Final Four.
Whatever. Texas isn't why OU lost to Missouri or OSU or UNC or might have lost to an as yet to be previously undetermined Big East team in a mythical alternate universe match u p.
For the record, the writer is wrong about which team played UNC the best in the tournament. The answer is actually LSU which led with 11 minutes to go and kept the game inside double digits until there were less than 5 minutes left.
It's funny how losing in championship games is a Sooner journalist's highest aspiration. What a tragedy OU didn't get the same opportunity to lose once again on the highest profile stage, and instead has to settle for losing in the Elite Eight.
Hey, it could be worse. They could have lost to Boise State.
OU has fielded goons for years in every sport and yes, it's nice to take high road but even the thought that we cost them a shot at the final game is righteous.
I say it's true. It might even have loosed his Medial Rectus Muscle. That would explain that "look".
I like everyone asking him if he wants cheese with that whine. You know this guy reads his columns comments everyday. Those 26 comments are tearing up his soul.
